BEATDOWN is a high-octane multiplayer rhythm game where every playthrough is a musical concert come to life. The annual Battle of the Bands competition is calling you, and you’re ready to fight to the top! Team up with up to 4 friends in couch co-op, choose from a variety of instrument-inspired fighters, and battle your way through stylish stadiums filled with enemy bands that test your reflexes, rhythm, and team coordination. Land precise hits to trigger powerful buffs, enter a Flow State, and rack up satisfying streaks as your squad stays perfectly in sync. Whether you are competing for top scores or just jamming with friends, BEATDOWN delivers the rush of action combat with the pulse of a live performance. Don’t be late!

Welcome to the Battle of the Bands! Form a band of up to 4 friends to start making music and fight your way to the top! Choose from a range of band members, each with different instruments and ways of battling:

• The Guitarist - A glass cannon with massive damage.

• The Drummer - A slow tank with a wide area attack.

• The Bassist - A fast, lightweight attacker.

• The Pianist - An jack-of-all-trades, reliable, long range fighter.

Face a variety of enemy bands, each with unique music tracks, genres, and characters! As you go head-to-head with these bands, you've gotta attack to the beat of their tracks to succeed!

If you're consistently on-beat, you'll reach a Flow State. Every band member who's also in the Flow State will gain a unique combat boost from their other teammates, depending on the instrument. Hit in sync together to dominate the stage!

Now that you've beat your foes and proven your status as the best band, do it better! The accuracy and score of your performances are tracked through each fight, showing which band members were on beat and which were lagging behind. 

Battle against your old score to reach a new best or try out a new instrument you haven't before. Your band's total performance is also recorded, allowing you to compete with friends and other bands on the same device.

About Us

This is a CS 426 Senior Project in Computer Science, Spring 2026, at the University of Nevada, Reno, CSE Department.

This project was made by CadenzaGames (CSE-11). Work by Cole Kauffman, Royce Ortega, Marlo Ongkingco, and Nick Victoriano. Art by Daryl Casas and Sole Burnett.
