Paper Trails is a narrative detective game where you solve crimes inside a believable desktop environment. Your job is simple: open the files, follow the trail, and prove what happened — before the story outruns you.

You’ll sift through emails, chat logs, reports, photos, receipts, timelines, and hidden metadata, then connect evidence into a clear accusation. Every case is built to feel grounded: messy, human, and full of contradictions.

Investigate like a real detective

• Search and cross-reference documents across a simulated desktop

• Spot inconsistencies, missing pieces, and deliberate misdirection

• Build a timeline, link suspects to motives, and verify alibis

• Use deduction to move from “interesting clue” to solid proof

Need a second brain? Interrogate a responsive AI-driven persona during gameplay. Ask for interpretations, challenge assumptions, request summaries, or push for alternative theories — then decide what to trust.
