Ragnarök Protocol

The end of our world is here. Loki has cast a curse on Midgard, pixelating the realm into a video game. The forests, the mountains, even humans began to mutate into pixels. To survive this pixelation, human souls were transferred into robotic shells to survive. Their consciousness lives on, but the world is not the same. This Pixel curse is spreading to other realms, and it is up to two unlikely heroes to find the Allfather Odin and save Midgard.

Gameplay

In this isometric adventure game, you play as Grin, a warrior taking refuge in a quiet mountain town. You begin your adventure with two axes, one blue and one yellow. These will introduce you to the color-matching combat of Ragnarök Protocol.

The color of the Oil running through enemies matters. If their Oil is blue, then it must be a blue weapon that damages them. Same for yellow Oil, green, pink, and eventually red.

Color-matching combat, combined with various enemy types that can attack at short range, long range, fade into smoke, shoot missiles, cast spells, and more makes each combat scenario feel exciting and unique.

This game plays like a hack n’ slash, but it is not a button masher. Every button press counts. The color of the weapon you swing, the timing of your dodge, the enemy you choose to attack first, as well as the enemy you choose to leave for last, all matters. Combat is strategic, and as you unlock more abilities and weapons, success weighs heavily on reading the battlefield.
