Bump Guardian is a casual, real-time deck-building defense game about protecting new life.

You play as the Bump Guardian — a living shield surrounding a growing fetus — defending against waves of incoming threats throughout the weeks of pregnancy. Enemies actively advance toward the ring, and it is up to you to stop them before they break through.

Gameplay

Each level is divided into waves. During a wave, enemies move toward the Bump Guardian while you play cards in real time to damage threats, heal the guardian, and stabilize your defenses. Your hand size is limited, requiring careful timing and prioritization.

If enemies reach the ring, they deal damage directly to it. The fetus remains protected as long as the ring holds — when it fails, the journey restarts.

The pacing emphasizes thoughtful decisions over fast reactions, keeping the experience approachable and calm.

Deckbuilding

Before each wave, you build and adjust your deck from the cards you have unlocked. Cards are designed to complement different strategies, such as focusing on offense, healing, or control.

Once a wave begins, your deck is locked in — making preparation just as important as execution.

Progression

Progress through pregnancy-inspired stages that reflect the passage of time and development. As you advance, new cards unlock, enemy get increasingly stronger, and strategic complexity increases.

Your journey is structured to mirror growth and care, with each stage introducing fresh challenges while maintaining a gentle, supportive tone.

A note from the developer 

Bump Guardian is a solo project hand-crafted between nap times and late nights. As a full-time mum to twin babies, building this game has been my way of exploring themes of protection and growth.
