Appril the Apple Snail is seen as the "weird" person in school. At best, she is ignored: and at worst, she is bullied. Being BOTH Autistic and Transgender definitely doesn't give you points in society. However, being an outcast is all that Appril knows, she's used to it. She was never good at hiding her true self to please those around her... Still, it can be very lonesome. Appril's only friend is her sibling, and her pet caterpillars! Appril finds a huge comfort in those fuzzy little bugs. They mean the world to her, and if you were to ask her to name every caterpillar species... You would be stuck in a conversation about it for a few hours. Needless to say, caterpillars are Appril's obsession.

With her differences, she is a target for Poppi the Butterfly, the most popular girl in school. Poppi is seen as perfect, her grades are in good shape, she's funny, kind... Nobody turns their head when she decides to harass Appril. After all, she wouldn't hurt a fly, and Appril is invisible! Appril can see through her true colors, and Poppi knows that she can get away and taking her anger out on Appril... I wonder why she's so angry?

Sylver the Spider wants to be popular, just like Poppi. She looks up to her and sees how happy she is with a bunch of friends on her side! The two girls are drawn to each other for very different reasons, and they become close friends! However, Sylver has a secret. Sylver also struggles with neurodivergence and she has an interest in worms. Appril and Sylver are very alike, however Sylver is more "socially aware" and keeps that to herself.

Sylver finds herself following in Poppi's footsteps as a bully, but she feels she must do it to gain popularity, despite feeling bad about it. Once Appril and Sylver learn that they aren't so different, in fact: They're VERY alike... They hit it off and become friends. In secret... Poppi is a drama queen and would throw a fit if she saw the two hanging out together. 

High school drama isn't fun and can really take a toll on your mental state, but what happens when something even more serious and tragic occurs? How will you cope? How will you react, or would you even understand? Appril's entire world has been thrown upside down! The only comfort that Appril knows... is those caterpillars.

Play as Appril as she goes through her every day struggles. Your choices matter in this Slice of Life RPG styled psychological horror game. There are multiple endings to the story and it is up to you which fate you want to give Appril. Complete quests around town, indulge in some daily activities such as fishing or going shopping, and choose how to handle certain conversations!

This game is for a mature audience as it includes serious topics. If you are uncomfortable with themes such as ablism, transphobia, blood/gore, death/grief, strong language and psychological horror, and other content that may be upsetting, please proceed with caution.
