Tower defense where your towers fall as blocks. Drag each piece onto the board, wall in your HQ and turn the gaps into kill zones. Every enemy comes at you its own way, bosses test your build, and between waves the Armory never has enough money for everything you want.

About This Game

Stackade is a tower defense game where you build with falling blocks.

Pieces drop into a column next to the board, and you drag each one into place around your HQ. Some blocks come with a tower on them, like a rifle, a minigun or a flamethrower. The rest are plain blocks, and enemies can't walk through those.

So every piece does two jobs. The towers need to end up somewhere useful, and the blocks decide which way the enemies have to walk. Make the path long enough and they get shot the whole way in.

Enemies

Each kind of enemy has its own way of getting to you. Some walk and look for the shortest way around your walls, and some don't care about walls at all. Some go straight for your HQ, some stop at a distance and pick off your towers, some blow up against your blocks, and some aren't there to fight at all, they just make a mess of your board. A layout that handles one kind well can fall apart against the next.

In Infinity a new enemy type arrives every three levels, and its boss shows up two levels later.

Between levels

You get paid after each level and spend it in the shop on towers, buff cards, grid upgrades and new shapes. There's never quite enough. Buying a tower also makes it show up more often in the pieces you get, so over a run your board ends up looking like what you bought.

The Workshop upgrades towers you already have, and the Shape Forge lets you draw your own pieces.

Modes

Campaign is four short levels that show you how everything works. Infinity is the main game, and it runs until your HQ goes down.

Also

15 towers, a rewind for bad drops, Steam achievements, 11 languages, and it works offline.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Most of Stackade's code was written with generative AI coding tools, working to the developer's direction. Everything you see on the board is drawn by that code; the game contains no AI-generated images. The ten translations besides English were produced with AI. Parts of this store page, its marketing images and its trailer were also made with AI assistance. The sound effects and music are recordings made by people and are credited in the game. Nothing is generated by AI while you play, and the game never connects to an AI service.
