The Left Rope

  • Controls the puppet's left arm, lifting and maneuvering it.

The Right Rope

  • Controls the puppet's right arm and can lift the puppet independently.

        🎨 Development Inspiration & Process

        The creator is a 40-year-old homeless man. During 8 years of wandering, he jotted down many ideas. One day, lying on a bunk in a youth hostel, he reflected on his life and what regrets he had. He remembered a game concept he had imagined when he was 18—a concept he felt had never been seen in gaming history.

        He returned home and taught himself C#, Unity, and Photoshop. When he struggled with the art style, he discovered the pixel art software Aseprite on Bilibili.

      • The Challenge of Physics

        To realize the connection between the ropes and the puppet, and the transmission of force between them, he stayed up late for 3 months. He found this to be an extremely difficult feature to implement. Researching this was a very troublesome subject.

        • The Process: In a broad sense, the concept seemed feasible, but within that broad scope, many small problems arose.

        • Problem Solving: He attempted dozens of methods and hundreds of solutions. When one approach failed, he had to backtrack and adjust the overall direction, only to face new choices and the need for constant experimentation.

        The Struggle

        The developer suffered from severe depression during this time. For 4 months, he was stuck on the rope mechanics, making no progress. He truly believed it was too difficult to achieve.

        While lying in bed for a week, feeling lost and helpless, he decided to give up. But right before quitting, he decided to try one last time. After 3 days of relentless effort, he finally realized the rope gameplay.
