What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Last Light: Survival is releasing in Early Access to allow us to collaborate closely with the community while expanding and refining the game.

The game already offers a solid and fully playable core survival experience, and Early Access gives us the opportunity to gather real player feedback to improve balance, systems, and overall quality.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to regularly update the game with new content, improvements, and polish while maintaining a stable and enjoyable experience. Player feedback will play a key role in shaping the game’s development as we move toward a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Last Light: Survival to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months.

This timeframe allows us to steadily expand the game with new content, features, and improvements while carefully incorporating player feedback and ensuring overall stability and quality. Development progress may vary depending on community input and testing results, but our focus is on delivering a polished and complete full release rather than rushing the process.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Last Light: Survival is planned to expand significantly upon the Early Access experience.

We plan to add additional locations, new gameplay systems, expanded survival mechanics, and more variety in enemies, items, and environmental challenges. The full release is also intended to include improved progression, deeper world-building, and a more refined overall structure.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to focus on improving performance, balancing gameplay, refining AI behavior, and enhancing visuals and audio based on player feedback. Our goal is for the full version to feel more complete, polished, and content-rich while preserving the core survival horror experience introduced in Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Last Light: Survival is fully playable and offers a complete core gameplay experience. The game currently features an open-world environment where players can explore, survive, and manage their growing community.

Players can recruit NPCs and assign them different roles and tasks, allowing them to assist with gathering resources, working, and supporting the settlement. Core systems such as building and construction, exploration, hunting, resource management, and basic community management are implemented and functional. Survival mechanics including eating, equipment management, and environmental interaction are also present.

The game includes dynamic systems such as a day and night cycle and changing weather conditions, which directly affect gameplay. Players can collect clothing and equipment, cut down trees, build houses and structures, and expand their settlement over time.

Combat and defensive gameplay are supported through enemy attack waves that require strategic preparation, positioning, and different tactical approaches to survive. While the current version is stable and playable, additional content, deeper systems, balancing, and polish will continue to be developed throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to price Last Light: Survival lower during Early Access to reflect the game’s current scope and ongoing development. As new content, features, and improvements are added throughout Early Access, we may gradually adjust the price to better reflect the expanding value of the game.

Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive all future updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively involve the community throughout the Early Access development of Last Light: Survival. Player feedback will play an important role in shaping the game’s balance, systems, and overall experience.

We plan to gather feedback primarily through Steam Discussions, community posts, and player reviews. This input will help guide adjustments to gameplay balance, AI behavior, difficulty, quality-of-life improvements, and feature refinement.

Throughout Early Access, we intend to communicate updates, changes, and development progress transparently and to prioritize improvements that reflect the needs and suggestions of the community whenever possible.

Players can share feedback and suggestions through the Steam Community forums, where we actively read and respond to discussions during development.”

About This Game

The world didn't end with a bang.

It ended with a secret you chose to keep.

Last Light: Survival is a first-person, open-world survival game where the line between predator and prey no longer exists — because now, the dead answer to you.

─────────────────────────────────────

YOU ARE THE CARPENTER. THIS IS YOUR STORY.

Civilization has fallen. You are a carpenter trying to keep your daughter alive in a world that has lost its mind.

When your wife becomes infected, you make a choice: you hide the truth.

That choice will cost you everything — and change everything.

─────────────────────────────────────

CONTROL THE DEAD

Somewhere in the ruins of the old world grows a plant. Survivors call it the SEED.

Consume it — and the undead become yours.

Not one. Not a few. As many as you need.

Command individual zombies as scouts, flankers, or guards. Or unleash a horde you control as a weapon — clearing paths, overwhelming enemy nests, and defending your base while your human companions hold the line beside them.

In Last Light: Survival, zombies aren't just a threat.

They're a resource.

─────────────────────────────────────

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Survival was never meant to be a solo act.

Recruit human survivors and bring them into your growing shelter. Assign tasks, build roles, and form squads:

• Who gathers wood and stone?

• Who hunts for food?

• Who fights when the horde arrives?

Your NPCs work, build, and bleed alongside you. The decisions you make for them — and about them — determine who makes it out.

─────────────────────────────────────

BUILD. HARVEST. SURVIVE.

The world outside is dangerous — and full of everything you need.

• Cut down trees and break stone to gather raw materials

• Scavenge abandoned locations for tools, weapons, and supplies

• Hunt animals for food before hunger takes you first

• Manage thirst, fatigue, and gear as conditions grow harsher

Craft tools, weapons, and structures. Expand your base from a desperate shelter into a fortified settlement. Then hold it — because the dead come in waves, and they don't stop.

─────────────────────────────────────

A WORLD THAT DOESN'T FORGIVE

Day turns to night. Weather shifts without warning. Snow blankets the ground and slows everything — you, your companions, your enemies.

Darkness is not just atmosphere. It's a mechanic.

Cold is not just visual. It's a threat.

The world of Last Light: Survival is alive, dynamic, and constantly working against you.

─────────────────────────────────────
