The championship tournament build is due in one hour, the engineering team is panicking, and the game engine repository is in complete disarray. You are the emergency Git consultant nobody wanted to call, but everybody needs.

This content pack features a curated set of advanced, story-driven Git scenarios built around a fully simulated repository and command-line environment. Each challenge mirrors real-world Git problems, wrapped in a game development narrative that reinforces why each operation matters and not just how to execute it.

Across six escalating challenges, you will:

• Rewrite history to remove a leaked API key from past commits

• Perform a squash merge to keep the main branch clean

• Cherry-pick a critical fix without pulling in unstable experimental changes

• Track down a physics regression using git bisect

• Clean and reorganize commit history with interactive rebase

• Manage staging, stashing, reflog inspection, and .gitignore under pressure

Like the base game, GameDev Tournament Crisis implements Git behavior as faithfully as possible, including history rewriting, commit validation, and interactive workflows. Solutions are not abstract puzzles, they are real Git commands applied in realistic situations.

In the base game players are introduced to the filter-branch command. This time around, Fishagon Studios' engineering policy requires the use of the modern alternative solution with filter-repo.
