Varför Early Access?

Hybrid Beasts aims to continue the great tradition of 2D artillery combat games like the beloved early Worms games. However, Hybrid Beasts adds a ton of completely new ideas. For example, we created an open world filled with secrets, quests and treasures for players to explore. The 60 regions of this world can be conquered and must be defended creating the possibilty of long and epic wars spanning many fun couch multiplayer evenings with friends. Many never-before-seen weapons and items (currently more than 70 are ready to use) allow for new ways to play. For example, you can fight underwater or add defensive buildings or plants to the battlefield terrain. Beasts can be zombified but also brought back from the dead. You can command Voodoo Dolls, Deadly Armadillos and Flying Fishes to just name a few. We introduce completely new game elements like many different tournament modes, endgames (sudden-death events) or rare events that can unexpectedly turn around a battle.

Current state

We already developed a fully functional and quite large portion of Hybrid Beasts during the last years. The game can be played, finished and all levels are already included. More than 70 weapons and items are usable. The development process was guided by intensive and very fruitful discussions with a small group of around 50 beta testers, so only few bugs are to be expected (if you find one we will do our best to fix it as soon as possible).

Next steps

In general, we think of Hybrid Beasts as a community-driven indie game and we are very open for ideas for new weapons, items, endgames, rare events levels and much more. On top of that, we already now have a lot of further ideas that will be added in future updates.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“We expect Hybrid Beasts to be in Early Access state for less than a year, probably around 6 month.”

“In the final game, we plan to include more weapons and items, more endgames and more rare events. Furthermore, additional new and sophisticated tournament modes are planned in addition to the ones that are already included. Last but not least, we plan to include the possibility for online multiplayer in addition to the ultimate fun of local (and remote local) multiplayer that is already included.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“A large portion of the game is already finished. It can be fully played and all levels are included. More than 70 weapons and items are usable, more will likely be added. We have included 1 of (at least) 6 endgame modes, 2 of (at least) 6 tournament modes and 0 of (at least) 5 rare events. Local (couch) multiplayer is fully working and has been extensively tested. Online multiplayer is in development.”

“The Early Access version will be provided at a lower price (25% discount) compared to the final game.”

“We will communicate with our customers on a forum both on the Steam platform and on our website (www.hybridbeasts.com). We are also reachable directly by e-mail or by commenting on our various social media outlets (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). Your choice. We aim to react within 48 hours to all comments.”
