In this tense situation, Lang Xian chooses to balance the two heroines, protecting their true identities from being discovered by one another. Story Background: The year is the 26th of the Jiajing reign, the fifth year after the famous assassination attempt by a palace maid, known as the Renyin Palace Incident. In this year, Empress Dowager Fang, who was responsible for dealing with the assassin maid, passed away, though historical accounts of her death are varied. The events of the game take place two months before Empress Fang's death.
