A guided ARG that spans across dimensions.

Scientist Jessie R. Sully's assistant, Alex, has been missing for years. No one's heard from Jessie since the mysterious day of his disappearance.

Until today. 

Alex is trapped in another dimension and he needs your help to escape:

• Clues spread across the internet: use your browser, search engines, and puzzle-solving skills to unlock an inter-dimensional door. 

• Fragmented storytelling: parts of the story are told through the game but also across fictional (and real) websites, vlogs, and private notes. 

• Solve alone or together: try solving the puzzles solo, write things down, and connect the dots. Or team up with a friend or community.

Decipher cryptography, search digital footprints, and retrace Jessie's journey to uncover what happened to her and Alex. 

Disclaimer: 
what-if requires creative problem-solving as the puzzles are complex (if you've played our previous games this is definitely more difficult). Like other ARGs it can be useful to band together with a friend or work together via community forums in order to progress. It's designed to be played alone but also works playing multiplayer, one person then shares their screen and any additional players can help solve the puzzles.
