A DEATH RATTLE

At last, after being destroyed by the united forces of mankind, the Lich Kadryn released with his final breath a pestilence of death and rot that condemned every living being in the Great Blue Peninsula.

Several desperate caravans of survivors began to form throughout the region, all seeking to flee toward the Port of Serria, where dozens of ships are being prepared to carry them safely across the ocean and escape The Black Breath.

A CARAVAN ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE

The Black Breath is a turn-based tactical game with roguelite elements in which you manage a caravan of survivors, make narrative decisions, and fight multiple enemies in a turn-based grid-to-grid combat system.

Features:

  • Manage the caravan’s scarce Resources to ensure the survival of the civilians.

  • Choose which path to follow among several dangerous Zones, each with its own enemies, climates, and mechanics.

  • Within each zone, the path is composed of multiple procedurally connected Nodes.

  • Along the way, you may find different Retinues that can join the caravan and contribute in their own ways.

  • Rely on various Characters who will bravely fight to defend the caravan.

TURN-BASED TACTICAL BATTLES

The Black Breath offers a turn-based tactical combat system inspired by classic role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, adapted to a face-to-face grid format where positioning is vital to gaining the upper hand.

The caravan will encounter dozens of different enemies, each with unique behaviors, weaknesses, and mechanics, depending on the current zone and the strength of the Black Breath.

Caravan characters are generated from five main classes (for now), but within each class there is a wide variety of abilities and traits ensuring every Character is unique.

During the journey, characters may perform campaign activities to help the caravan in different ways and can also fall ill, grow fatigued, or even die permanently.

ROGUELITE REPLAYABILITY

Each run begins with a new caravan, but the world does not reset: Global Corruption advances permanently every time you start a new journey, whether it succeeds or fails. Once it reaches a certain level, no more caravans can depart, and the only option left is to face the Final Mission at the Port of Serria, where characters from all caravans who managed to arrive must defend the civilians as they board the ships to escape.

Between caravans, the civilians you rescue take shelter in the city and contribute with improvements, structures, and bonuses that strengthen future caravans. Thus, every defeat leaves a mark, every victory brings hope, and every run pushes the world a little closer to its inevitable fate.
