Welcome to Froglington, a town where ambition goes to die and the only thing cheaper than hope is lager.

You've just lost your job at the local gravy mine. You’re skint and your rent’s overdue. But fate, or possibly the parish council, has other plans. The local pub darts league is offering a grand prize of £300. Enough to pay off your landlord and save you from destitution.

DartsRPG builds on the classic darts experience, introducing in-game realtime playable 'boost' cards to improve your play, or distract your opponent. The consumption of alcohol is also integral to the gameplay experience, and finding your 'golden' number of pints is crucial to perfect your throw.

What Makes Darts RPG Unique?

In Darts RPG you will play as a northerner who has just lost their job at the local gravy mine, when an opportunity arises to earn some money playing Darts.

We wanted Darts RPG to capture the feeling of being a darts player in a pub league, its less regimented than professional darts, there are more outside factors that can influence a game, and of course, there's alot more alcohol involved.

Traditionally darts video games mimic a real life darts game too closely, and rely on mechanics involving sliding bars and balance meters to perfect your throw. Darts RPG takes it in a different direction, we have introduced a more arcade style experience to our game, to make the games faster, more fun, more unexpected and more exciting. Retaining the traditional rules of Darts as a core, players now have more options mid-game to tailor their experience, making each game feel different, not to mention the drunk mechanics where you need to balance your drunk levels to play at your peak levels.

In order to progress as a darts player, you will win games, earn EXP, and unlock more pubs to compete in. Progression will then unlock further towns and regions, accessible by the local train station, where you can compete at higher levels, take part in darts leagues and enter local tournaments. EXP does not have a cap, so players can continue to improve their player indefinitely. Our goal is to eventually have an online lobby where you can compete with your mates, and see how you fare against the rest of the world. In addition to this, we'll have a ranked leader board so you truly can become the best player in the world.

The darts happens at night in our game, however in the daytime its your chance to earn some more money to fuel your darts/drinking habit, or just have a chat to the locals and uncover the secrets of the town. Every town and building will be filled with fully interactable NPC's, all with potential side quests, jobs and fun things to do. Do a shift in the local takeaway, pop into the jobcentre and find a temp job, or browse the local car boot sale, maybe you'll find a hidden gem?

Darts RPG will feel alive and fresh, and filled with lots of northern references and puns - and will be a unique addition to the darting game scene.
