What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sunset Crime is entering Early Access because there are still several features, systems, and content currently under development. The game already has a solid foundation — including a fully playable Free Mode, with the entire map unlocked, weapons, vehicles, and all essential mechanics available — but it does not yet represent the full vision planned for the final release.

Early Access allows players to experience the game early while giving us valuable community feedback to refine gameplay, balance, performance, and overall quality. During this period, new systems will be added, such as improvements to Story Mode, dynamic events, new areas, new characters, AI upgrades, customization options, and many other features that will expand the world and player freedom.

Our goal is to build Sunset Crime together with the community, ensuring that the final version becomes more complete, stable, and enjoyable thanks to player contributions. Even though the game is still in development, the Early Access version will offer a fully playable experience, allowing you to explore, test, and have fun while the game continues to evolve.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Since the development team consists of only two people, we cannot give an exact timeframe for the full release. However, we can confirm that Early Access will not last less than 3 years. During this period, we will continue refining existing systems, adding new features, expanding the world, and improving the overall gameplay experience based on community feedback. Our goal is to deliver the best possible version of Sunset Crime, even if that requires additional time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Sunset Crime is planned to be significantly larger, deeper, and more polished than the Early Access release. Our goal is to expand the game in every area — from gameplay systems to narrative content.

The final version is expected to include:

A complete Story Mode, featuring main missions, meaningful decisions, multiple paths, and real consequences for the player’s choices.

New gameplay systems, including activities, dynamic events, advanced crime mechanics, character progression, and social interactions.

An expanded map, with new neighborhoods, urban areas, interiors, and unique locations.

Improved AI, for pedestrians, police, and enemy behavior.

New vehicles, weapons, items, and shops.

More weather systems, city-life simulations, and NPC interactions.

Optimization and performance improvements, ensuring a smoother and more stable experience.

Graphic improvements, visual polish, and general quality upgrades.

The Early Access version already allows players to freely explore and enjoy Sunset City, but the final release will deliver a much more complete, rich, and immersive experience — fully realizing the game’s long-term vision.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of Sunset Crime offers a fully playable experience focused primarily on Free Mode. Players can freely explore the city, use vehicles, buy weapons, interact with NPCs, and test all the essential gameplay mechanics. The entire map is unlocked, money is infinite, and all core features of this mode are available from the start.

While the game already has a solid foundation, it is still under active development. This means some areas, systems, and features may be incomplete, receive frequent updates, or undergo balancing and performance adjustments. The Story Mode is also in development and is not yet available at this stage.

Early Access is structured to allow players to have fun right away while we gather community feedback to continuously improve the game. New areas, systems, mechanics, and content will be added throughout development, progressively expanding the Sunset Crime experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as new content, features, and improvements are added throughout development. The Early Access price reflects the current state of the game, and as Sunset Crime expands and becomes more complete, the final version will represent a larger and more polished experience. Players who join early will receive all future updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will play an essential role in the development of Sunset Crime. Our goal is to build the game together with the players, listening to suggestions, identifying issues, and understanding what the community wants to see in future updates.

We plan to involve players in several ways:

Official website and social media, where we will share news, polls, announcements, and direct channels for feedback.

Periodic development updates showcasing progress, including details about new systems, improvements, and upcoming features.

Frequent Early Access updates, allowing players to test new features and help us refine them.

Open, continuous feedback, covering bugs, balancing, content ideas, and general suggestions.

We want the community to be actively involved in shaping Sunset Crime, helping us refine and improve the game until its final release. Every opinion matters — and becomes part of this journey.”
