« The reclamation of Dverghold is a collaborative effort. We'll involve the community through:

- Steam discussions and Discord for feedback on balance, difficulty, and features
- Regular development updates as "reclamation progress reports"
- Polls and discussions about new character classes, enemies, and mechanics for upcoming Acts
- At a later point, we plan introduce an online component where the players can see how many monsters of certain types have been killed, how much loot has been found etc. by all players together. We intend to use this to influence certain updates.

Each major content Act will be shaped by what we learn from players tackling the levels before it. You're not just playing Early Access - you're helping us chart the path deeper into the mountain. »

When the last great age of civilization was fractured by the earthquakes, a new people rose from the ashes and carved their name upon the world of Hyrdengard, the realm now known as the Shattered Sea. Weathering storms, plague, and ceaseless foes, the Dwarves of DVERGHOLD forged themselves into the unchallenged power of the Sea of Thorns.

The Dwarves' first forays awakened something ancient and hungry in the deep, and the shadows beneath Rekestt began to stir. Weary from a brutal campaign against the mountain trolls, King Sterren the Second now turns to the outside world. His envoys travel across the waters to the prosperous island-city of Presdon, and beyond, seeking any who possess the courage - or desperation - to descend into the dark.

From distant coasts, from battered ships, and from hidden corners of the Shattered Sea, they come: adventurers, wanderers, and vagabonds willing to risk not only their lives but their very souls to stand with DVERGHOLD against the rising dread below Rekestt.
