What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Pigmen's Challenge is currently in a playable and enjoyable state with its core gameplay loop in place. However, I do not want to leave the game there. I want to add more content, improve the balance, polish the overall presentation, and create a stronger experience that players can enjoy for longer.

This game is being developed by one person. Because of that, Early Access is not only a way for me to release the game, but also a chance to improve it together with the players. I want to see what players enjoy, where they struggle, and which parts of the game could become more fun.

The features I am considering are not missing pieces that prevent the game from being played. They are improvements intended to expand the experience and make the game more enjoyable. I am considering working on features such as Steam achievements, public rooms, additional game modes, voice chat, balance improvements, and visual/audio polish.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently plan for Pigmen's Challenge to remain in Early Access for around 2-3 months. However, this may change depending on development progress, player feedback, and the state of the features I am considering.

I do not want to rush the game. My goal is to deliver an experience that feels as refined, fun, and worthwhile as possible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, I plan for Pigmen's Challenge to offer more content, better balance, a more polished presentation, and more varied gameplay options.

During Early Access, I am considering working on public rooms, Steam achievements, additional game modes, voice chat, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and visual/audio improvements.

Alongside these, I also want to evaluate ideas from player feedback that could make the experience more fun and smoother without changing the core structure of the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the completed core gameplay loop and is playable. Players can experience cooking, serving, and the cooperative gameplay flow.

The game can currently be played between friends. The main idea and core fun of the game are already present, but there are additional features and content I am considering in order to make the experience more varied and more polished.

During Early Access, some systems may change, improve, or be reshaped based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, I plan to use a more accessible price that reflects the current amount of content and the state of development.

As new content, features, and general improvements are added, I may consider increasing the price later on. My goal is to keep the game as accessible as possible while also reflecting the value of the added content and improvements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Pigmen's Challenge is a project developed by one person. Even though I am the one developing the game, the players are the ones who will experience it. Because of that, player comments, criticism, bug reports, and suggestions are truly important to me.

As a developer, when you spend a long time working inside a project, it can become harder to see some issues as clearly as someone looking at the game from the outside. I believe the community's perspective can help me make the game better.

I plan to follow player feedback through Steam discussions, reviews, and other feedback channels. I want to evaluate ideas that can make the experience more fun and higher quality without breaking the core structure of the game.”
