About This Game

The game

Almamon is a monster-collecting, turn-based RPG where victory comes from clever decisions and well-built teams.

You encounter mons, choose the ones you like, and build teams by customizing their moves and traits so they work together in interesting ways. Every mon is viable. Every move is viable. If you find something cool, you can build around it and make it work.

You can play as hands-on or as laid-back as you like. Take full control to outplay opponents turn by turn, or build the perfect strategy and watch it win on its own.

Combat

Battles are built to reward clever decisions, creative teams, and adaptation.

  • Strategy over stats

    You can’t outlevel the game and steamroll encounters. Victory comes from understanding your team, reading the situation, and choosing the right response. Moves you learn early remain meaningful all the way to the end, letting you build strategies around the stuff you find cool.

  • Every move creates tension

    No move is ever just “damage.” Every action can shift the flow of battle in unexpected ways, sometimes in your favor, sometimes against you. More powerful effects come with greater risk, and misjudging the moment can turn your own move into a setback. Winning feels earned because every decision matters.

  • Timing changes everything

    Choosing the right move isn’t enough, you also decide when it triggers. Acting at the right moment can flip matchups on their head, letting clever play overcome raw power. Reading the battlefield and striking at the perfect time is often the difference between winning and losing. In Almamon, scissors can beat rock, if you play it at the right time.

Play your way

Almamon supports both active and relaxed play without compromising depth.

  • Instinct system (optional autobattler)

    You can turn the Instinct system on and off at any time during battle. When active, your mons choose actions automatically based on their personality and past experiences. As they rely on Instinct more often, their decision-making improves.

    This lets you focus on high-level strategy, team building, move selection, and synergy, and watching your plan unfold on its own.

  • Play at your own pace

    The game never rushes you. You can step away at any time without being punished.

Play fullscreen and fully focused, or run the game windowed on the side while doing something else. Almamon is designed to respect your time and attention.

Modes & Replayability

  • Story Mode

    Story Mode features a handcrafted campaign centered around intrigue between powerful cosmic forces. Your choices in branching dialogue and story paths leave a mark, you can choose a side or forge your own path.

    Battles are carefully designed to challenge you while gradually teaching mechanics. All dialogue is fully skippable. This mode is ideal for players who want a complete, curated experience in a few hours and then move on.

  • Roguelike Mode

    Each run is a unique campaign with different builds, teams, and outcomes. An optional hardcore mode ends the run when you lose.

This mode is designed for higher challenge, replayability, and experimentation with all mons and builds the game has to offer.

Story & Tone

You play as a traveler, a being that moves between worlds and has no form of its own. Who you become and the destiny of many mons will be defined by your choices.

Don't let the cute mons fool you. This is a setting of cosmic intrigue inspired by Guarani mythology. The story explores themes of agency, choice, identity, and the flow of life.
