Why Early Access?

“Gridlings is launching in Early Access so we can gather player feedback while continuing active development. The current version is fully playable, but we believe community input will be valuable in refining balance, difficulty, usability, and overall game feel.

Early Access allows us to iterate more quickly, test new ideas with real players, and improve the game based on how people actually play it rather than assumptions made during solo development. Our goal is to use this period to make Gridlings the best version of itself before considering it complete.

We are committed to continued development and regular updates during Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don’t want to lock ourselves into a specific timeline. Development length will depend on player feedback, testing, and iteration. Our goal is to remain in Early Access only as long as it meaningfully improves the quality of the final game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version represents the core gameplay experience, but the full version is planned to be more complete and polished.

Planned improvements may include:

About This Game

Gridlings is a fast-paced, hero-driven twist on tower defense that blends strategic wave survival with active, skill-based gameplay.

Select one of four unique heroes, each with their own distinct spell kit and playstyle. Enemies spawn in escalating waves, advancing relentlessly toward your hero. Unlike traditional tower defense games, you’re always in control—dodging enemy attacks in real time to stay alive.

Every hit matters. When enemies fall, they drop gold that can be used to heal, forcing you to make constant decisions between survival and risk as the battlefield grows more dangerous.

Progress through 15 missions, adapt to new enemy patterns, and master each hero’s abilities to overcome increasingly intense challenges.
