What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo game dev, and I want to start sharing my game with a bigger audience to gather more thoughts on the game so I can see what changes I can make, what I can add, upgrade ... with the feedback of players until I finish the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There is not really a time limit or a specific date, but I hope for a 1 or 2 year period to finish the game. The main components are already in place, so I wouldn't need to make big changes in the main code.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more playable heroes, more random events, more interactions, new enemies and bosses to fight.
I aslo want to add lore to some elements of the game (heroes, environment, set up, enemies ...).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now, there's a full game loop with 3 playable heroes, many different fights, 4 bosses and 20 random events. These elements could be changed with player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The early access price will be a bit lower than the full game. The price will change once the 1.0 release but will not move (except for sales) throughout the early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There's a Discord forum to gather player feedback, bugs encountered, etc.
It will also be used to give news about the game's evolution, updates, etc.”

About This Game

In Nocturn, you play as a hero tasked to protect his villagers and save the world from eternal darkness.

Gather resources, rebuild your outpost, and manage your villagers to assure your survival.

You'll have to survive numerous assaults on your outpost, with a real-time fighting system where staying sharp will assure your victory.

Darkness will be your greatest enemy. You'll have to make sure you have enough light to prevent your villagers from turning into hostile creatures, but you can exile one of your villagers if he becomes a danger. But will his missing be a good thing, or a bad thing?

  • Different heroes with active and passive abilities, changing your way to play

  • Random events each day, assuring a different run every time

  • A medieval dark fantasy style

  • Real-time fight requiring being active throughout the entire thing

  • Sickness system evolving with your resources. You'll have to make choices between risking a mutation and gathering more resources, or get rid of a sick villager to make sure no one will die
