Varför Early Access?

“The game already contains the core systems and mechanics. However, as a solo developer, it is important I get proper feedback on the already available content.

Directly involving the players in the development will help me refine mechanics, balance contents (module, units, abilities), enemy AI and the overall experience.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“I'm aiming for a release in Q3 or Q4 of 2026.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“The core gameplay is already established and should not change drastically. I plan to implement more contents and complete the third act. Will also feature a good amount of balancing changes and refining some UI/UX based on players feedback and suggestions during Early access.

“All core mechanics and systems are implemented. The Early access version contains two acts out of 3 with all their respective contents :

- Two playable characters with their respective abilities.
- About 15 combat maps with a variety of enemies.
- Two Gatekeepers (Boss) with their respective Mk1 and Mk2 versions.
- All T1 modules : 4 replicators, 3 logistics and 3 security.
- All T2 modules : 5 replicators , 3 logistics and 3 security.
- Many mods (currently 50) to customize your playstyle.
- Many scripts (currently 18) for further customization.
- Upgrades trees to augments you character capabilities.
- First draft of a Codex.
- French translation.

“Yes, the price will increase slightly for the final release, since not all content is available. ”

“I mostly need help debugging and balancing the game. I can only collect so much information by playtesting by myself.

The discord will be the primary way to exchange with the community.”

Obsolete is a minimalist Real-time strategy game with roguelike elements. ​

Your are branded obsolete, a runaway AI, trying to reach the safety of the intranet sanctum called "Babylon".

The corporate has dispatch Interdictors and Gatekeepers to stop your escape.

  • Units spawn is base on an interval of 12 sec (Tick). Allowing you to plan and create group of units that synergize.

  • You don't control units directly. They move automatically in formation along path you set.

  • Units use their abilities automatically based on target priority or specific trigger.

  • Use the unique abilities of your AI character to support your units or harm the enemy ones.

  • Your not limited to your character abilities, you will find Scripts (AI abilities) allowing further customization of your playstyle.

  • Install a variety of modules, mods and scripts in your Memory Heap. Creating a multitude of possibility strategy.

  • Use Fragments salvaged on fallen elite enemies to further improve and customize your AI own personal abilities.

  • Keep interesting items in your storage and reconfigure your loadout before combat to better counter your enemy composition.

  • No hidden information, know which Interdictor or Gatekeeper (Enemy AI) you will encounter, there loadout, mod and the map you will battle on.

  • Use the Codex and the nested tooltips system to learn every things about modules, units, scripts, skills, effects, etc.

  • Enemy AI abide by the same rules as you, they manage and are limited by the same resources.

  • Their loadouts are created from the same modules, mods and scripts you can salvage during your escape (Exception being Gatekeepers abilities).
