Miksi Early Access?

Face Off XL is the big sister product to the original Face Off game, released earlier this year. While the original game was always intended to be sent to mobile markets, XL is intended solely for desktop players. Numerous graphics upgrades have been made and many aspects of the user interface have been improved. We also have plans for new game modes and expanded game boards.

We anticipate a 3 to 6 month Early Access period, during which we will finish polishing the existing feature set and roll out the additional features.

The finished version will contain a completely overhauled user interface, a story mode, more visually appealing game boards, and game boards that feature more than 3 lanes. Additionally, more factions and cards will be implemented by the time the game is fully released.

The game is in a fairly polished state. The user interface still needs work, and the appearance of most of the game boards featured within the mobile game have been upgraded. We have verified that game boards with 4 lanes are functional within the existing code base, and the AI can use them, however no useable boards currently exist and the AI will need adjustment to allow it to properly deal with the implications of larger game boards on the overall strategy. We have only outlined the story mode.

The game will always be free to play.

The community is a major part of polishing the game. Their input will be used to improve card balance and to develop new and interesting cards. As new features are implemented, their feedback will be key to ensuring the experience is interesting and fun.
