About This Game

AMANZI is an Africa-inspired first-person sci-fi stealth action game developed in Cape Town, South Africa by Loud Rabbits.
Currently in development, with a playable demo coming soon, the game combines stealth, hacking, and puzzle-solving in a world where information can be as powerful as any weapon.

You play as a field technician who stumbles upon a secret that could stop a civil war—if you can stay alive long enough to uncover it.
Use your tools, quick thinking, and careful movement to trespass into restricted zones, outsmart security systems, and uncover the truth hidden deep within the city.

The game features sound design and original music by Pressure Cooker Studios—the Cape Town team known for Manor Lords—bringing atmosphere and depth to every mission.

The World of AMANZI

Built into the cliffs of a mountain range and fed by a glacier, the city-state of Amanzi (“water” in Zulu) was once a symbol of balance and progress.
Now, the system is breaking.

The city’s three districts, Amafu, Ubomi, and Uthuli, were designed to share the same lifeblood: water. But as resources become unevenly distributed, tension grows.
In the shadows, extremist groups seek to exploit the crisis, while the ruling Council blames Uthuli’s hardship on the district's leaders' mismanagement.

Your path leads through all three districts to uncover what really happened—and who’s keeping the truth buried.
Every environment, structure, and symbol in Amanzi draws from African architecture and cultural influence, offering a fresh perspective on the sci-fi genre.

The District of Amafu

High above the city, the people of Amafu (“The Clouds”) live in comfort.
Their water-powered lifestyle shields them from the suffering below.
From their towers, the Council of Amanzi claims that Uthuli’s shortages are self-inflicted—an excuse that few outside Amafu still believe.

The District of Ubomi

Ubomi (“Life”) stretches between Amafu and Uthuli, a green belt of vertical gardens and irrigation systems that sustain the city. It's condensation creates constant mist and clouds around the garden platforms which keep the Uthuli and Amafu visually apart—out of sight and increasingly out of touch with one another have allowed rumors and distrust grow.

The District of Uthuli

Uthuli (“The Dust”) was once the heart of Amanzi, a thriving river harbor and residential core.
Now, its canals have run dry. The glacier dam above changed the life in Amanzi forever.
While other districts thrive, Uthuli’s citizens suffer, left with sickness, anger, and a sense of betrayal as the Council makes one final announcement…

What We’re Working On

After 12 months of development, our team of former game development students from the Academy of Digital Arts in Cape Town has created the first playable demo of Amanzi under the Loud Rabbits studio banner.
It’s still evolving—but already represents the essence of what Amanzi aims to be: a tense, atmospheric stealth experience in a uniquely African sci-fi world.

What’s Next

We’re preparing to release the demo on Steam soon.
