Why Early Access?

“The goal of Manga Hero is to create the ultimate game for manga fans everywhere. As we are a small indie studio working on our first major release, we want to take the time to make the game as good as it can be and receive lots of feedback from players. We also plan to continue updating the game with new story chapters and content so Early Access players can continue enjoying the game for years to come.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately two years, with the full release coinciding with the release of Chapter 6, the conclusion of the main storyline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add additional story chapters inspired by popular genres of manga, featuring new areas, enemies and weapons. We also plan to add a hub world where players can interact with NPCs, complete quests, and relax in between levels. Other ideas for potential features include cosmetics, expanded sidequests, and new combat challenges.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes Chapter 1 of the story, featuring 2-3 hours of gameplay including four boss battles and three weapons with unique movesets to master.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Upon leaving Early Access, we plan to increase the game's price point to about double the current price. Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive all future content for free and will not be affected by this price increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that Manga Hero has limitless potential of what it can become, and we want the project to be driven by fans and fellow manga lovers. We will listen closely to community feedback and collaborate on ideas for future story chapters and new features. We will focus on using the Steam Forum as a channel to communicate with our players.”

About This Game

Manga Hero is a real-time action RPG inspired by classic manga. Step into the shoes of Hiro, a young hero searching for his missing mangaka father in a magical world formed from the stories he once created.

Fight your way through a series of handcrafted chapters filled with enemies, platforming challenges, and cinematic encounters. Each area represents a different manga-inspired setting, presented with dynamic panel transitions and stylized visual framing that bring the feel of a manga page to life.

Combat in Manga Hero focuses on skill-based action. Instead of traditional character leveling, player progression comes from unlocking new weapons and mastering their unique movesets.

Fast-paced Hack-and-Slash Combat
Engage enemies in real-time third-person combat using a variety of melee weapons including baseball bats, greatswords, katanas, and more. Each weapon has its own special attack and second-stage ability that can change the flow of battle.

Skill-Focused Progression
