“Etherwind is entering Early Access to gather player feedback while gameplay systems are actively being developed and refined. The game places a strong emphasis on long-term progression, cooperative play, and balance across multiple interconnected systems, which benefit from real player behavior and iteration.

Early Access allows development to be guided by community feedback on progression pacing, cooperative incentives, and overall gameplay feel.”

Hvor lang tid vil dette spil være i tidlig adgang?

“We expect Etherwind to remain in Early Access for an extended period while additional content, systems, and polish are developed. The exact duration will depend on feedback, scope adjustments, content creation speed, and development progress.

We plan to move out of Early Access once the progression systems and overall content scope feel complete and stable, which we anticipate may be around 1-2 years after the initial Early Access release.”

Hvorledes kommer den fulde version til at være anderledes end produktet i tidlig adgang?

“We plan for the full version to expand on the Early Access experience with additional regions, finely tuned progression systems, more quests and cooperative content, ongoing gameplay balance, polish, and performance improvements.

Early Access focuses on refining the core systems, while the full version aims to deliver a broader and more complete world built on those foundations.”

“The Early Access version focuses on core gameplay systems, including PvE combat, character progression, rebirth mechanics, cooperative play, and a persistent shared world. Players can explore maps, complete quests, party with others, and progress their characters across multiple lives.

As with most Early Access titles, some features are still in development, content is incomplete, and balance and pacing will continue to evolve based on feedback.”

Ændrer spillets pris sig under og efter tidlig adgang?

“During Early Access, Etherwind will be completely free to play, with no purchase price and no subscription. We do not plan to change the price at any point during Early Access.

After Early Access ends, the game itself will remain free to play. At that time, we plan to introduce an optional subscription that unlocks new continents and content added after launch. The base game and starting regions will remain free.

There are no plans to introduce a purchase price for the base game. Any pricing changes would be limited to optional post-launch subscription content.”

Etherwind is a small-scale 2.5D MMORPG focused on social play, cooperative combat, and long-term character progression. Players explore a persistent shared world filled with towns, wilderness areas, dungeons, and instanced maps, encountering other players organically while adventuring, trading, and forming parties.

Gameplay & World

Gameplay centers around PvE combat (no PvP), exploration, and character growth. Players fight monsters, complete quests (solo or with a group), and participate in shared activities, such as party quests, across interconnected maps. The game is designed to reward cooperation with others, with incentives to play together in the form of bonuses and quicker progression.

The world is persistent and shared, meaning players will regularly see others progressing alongside them, forming temporary or long-term groups, and contributing to an active in-game community.

Character Progression

Etherwind uses a rebirth-based progression system. Players work towards advancing their character(s) through levels during a life, then rebirth to begin again while retaining long-term progression earned across previous lives. 

The rebirth system allows characters to grow over time beyond a single leveling cycle. Character stats are kept and continue building over multiple lives, but for balancing purposes and strategic gameplay, skills and abilities are reset at rebirth, with potential to preserve some for future lives by using points gained from party cooperation.

Instead of fixed classes, Etherwind features a soft class system. Player roles are shaped through stat allocation, equipped gear, and learned / preserved skills across rebirths. 

This allows characters to evolve gradually, experiment with different playstyles, and specialize over time rather than being locked into a single role, or being forced to re-roll to explore other aspects of the game.

Development Status

Etherwind is an independently developed project with an emphasis on fun gameplay and community building over aggressive monetization.

The game is currently in active development, with Early Access planned. There is no release date or public playtest available at this time, and features may change as development continues.

Players interested in following development, providing feedback, or participating in early discussions are encouraged to join the official Discord, where development updates and design discussions are shared regularly.
