About This Game

Alonitaire is a classic Klondike Solitaire with a polished retro presentation: nostalgic pixel art, a clear interface, and an original soundtrack.

Yes, yes.
Solitaire. Cards. Music.
Absolute normality.
You can stop reading now.

Play with familiar rules: sort cards from Ace to King, move between columns, and plan every move calmly. Easy to pick up, hard to put down.

“Hard to put down” because it is fun.
Just for that reason.
Not for the other thing.

And throughout the game, the Joker acts as the master of ceremonies: commenting, joking, and accompanying your decisions. A theatrical touch so that playing alone doesn't feel quite so... lonely.

Accompanying, entertaining, cheering.
Nothing more.
If you see any interference, it’s nostalgia... or your monitor.
Or your imagination.
Anything but “something”.

Very serious. Very normal. Like this game. Like you. Like me.
(Especially me.)

A PERSONAL STORY

This game was born over 10 years ago as a project between friends.
Anthony, my development partner, passed away in 2015, and the project remained unfinished for years.

Recently, I was sent some of his things found in the attic.
Among them was a copy of this game. Upon discovering it was fully playable, I decided to finish it as a tribute to all those hours we spent coding together.

This is for you, mate.

Yes.
The attic. It was cold up there.

FAQ (so no one gets confused)

Q: Is it a Roguelite / Roguelike?

A: No. It is Klondike Solitaire.

It’s not a roguelite.
No runs, no builds, no sigils. Just an innocent game of solitaire.

Wishlist it and stop thinking.
Thank you.

Q: Is it a Deckbuilder?

A: No. You don't build decks: you play Klondike with classic rules.

Deckbuilder... this game? Come off it.
Nobody “builds” anything here. Here, you just place cards.

If any of them seem to have a personality, it’s your imagination acting up.

Q: Is it a Point and Click?

A: No. It is a solitaire game with a clear interface and simple controls.

Well, yes: you point... and you click.
But you also breathe and walk. Don't get carried away, detective.

Q: Is it a Puzzle?

A: It is Klondike: planning and light strategy, like the usual solitaire.

Puzzle?
No. There are no riddles here. No little interactable icons in certain places.

That is... interactive decoration.
Perfectly normal.

Q: Is it a Graphic Adventure?

A: No. It is Solitaire.

Exactly. Solitaire. Just solitaire. Don't investigate. Don't ask.
Wishlist it and... you'll see. Or not. Best not.

Q: Does it have a plot or narration?

A: No. It is Klondike Solitaire. Like any solitaire, it has no “plot” in the traditional sense.

Exactly. A plot? In a solitaire game? What a funny idea.
Here there are only cards, silence, and a perfectly dispensable narrator.
(Don't look at me like that.)
