The Game of Chance follows EMCEE, a sharp-tongued warehouse worker stuck in a dead-end job in the city of Sumnit Towne. One late night, while sorting through shredded documents, he pockets a stray USB drive without thinking twice. A week later, that small act of curiosity drags him into a spiraling conspiracy — the drive contains data from a powerful tech corporation’s illegal surveillance network.

Blackmailed into posing as a defense attorney under a false identity, EMCEE is thrown into a high-profile trial to defend Kade Virelli, a jittery whistleblower accused of bombing the very warehouse EMCEE once worked in. To survive, he’ll have to outwit both the prosecution and the corporation pulling their strings.

As the trial unfolds, players use cross-examination, timeline reconstruction, and evidence linking mechanics to uncover buried contradictions, emotional fractures, and hidden motives. What begins as a desperate scramble for self-preservation evolves into something much larger — the discovery of a secret organization known as the Inquisitor’s Faction, and EMCEE’s reluctant initiation into their war for the truth.
