About This Game

The greatest kusoge ever made is finally getting an OFFICIAL sequel! Hong Kong 2097 is the direct follow up to Hong Kong 97 for the SNES, the game that made the "big N" cry.

Chin is back and more powerful than ever. Fight your way through the fictional country Amurikkka and complete your mission from God himself to wipe out the population and build a utopia.

To set itself apart from the prequel, Hong Kong 2097 is a static-screen, twin stick shooter made up of five worlds, each with multiple substages and a boss waiting at the end (possibly more...). Chin is also equipped with a shield which can absorb certain types of enemy bullets to increase his weapon power. Mastering the shield mechanic will be key to beating the later stages.

While Hong Kong 2097 is a much more fleshed out game than the original, you can still expect the tasteless story, haphazard character design, head-scratchingly random environments and 7 second music loops that made Hong Kong 97 so "great". One minute you'll be shooting down dancing hot dogs on a ranch in Texass, and the next you'll be fighting off flasher Uncle Sams in Idahoe.

And if that wasn't enough, Hong Kong 2097 also allows you to build your dream card collection of soiled undies. Can you collect all 20?

With multiple difficulty settings, several weapons to choose from, items with random effects, surprise cameos and unlockable modes, this is truly the sequel of the century.

In a world of encroaching censorship and social media algorithms crushing our freedom of thought, Hong Kong 2097 and its disrespect for all that is sacred is a breath of fresh air.

Chin is ALIVE

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Much of the graphics were made with the help of generative AI. However, none of them are simply used "as is." Getting the artwork to match Hong Kong 97's SNES graphics requires downscaling resolution and adjusting contrast, saturation etc.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game is the sequel to Hong Kong 97, an unlicensed game that was meant to be a rebellion against censorship of mature themes in video games. It contains absurd parodies of real life people and places, and contains occasional gore.
