About This Demo

ABOUT OUR DEMO!

The Luminary demo is the intro section to our game. You'll make your unique character, learn the basics of movement and combat, try a couple weapon types and fight some enemies. You'll be able to check out our inventory system, different armor types, and get a feel for the exploration and what the following gameplay of Luminary will be like in the expanded main game.

This demo experience is about 20-30 minutes if played at normal speed. Multiplayer in this demo has been Disabled because Co-op doesn't open up in Luminary until after this initial intro tutorial section. This Demo is also only in English for the time being, we will localize in more languages down the road.

We will have a button for easy transfer of your unique custom character to the Early Access build, so feel free to take the time to make them look how you want :)

Expect the Main Game of Luminary to be a much longer and bigger experience, with more player count, more stats, more weapons, armor, enemies, etc.

FEATURES of Main Game LUMINARY

Aside for the overall graphical fidelity, and ease of access to the Openworld ARPG genre for all, There are 5 main pillars of Luminary, that the gameplay and mechanics focus on:

EXPLORATION AND ADVENTURE

- A dense hand crafted world to explore, with a robust fun locomotion system that allows you to go anywhere.

Climb the tallest mountains, brave the deepest waters, glide to distant lands, with many hidden treasure to uncover

BATTLES AND COMBAT

- A real time skill based combat system, where you can switch between fighting styles at the press of a button.

Melee, Ranged, Magic, Blocking, Dodging, Enjoy! and swap to different weapons during fights to keep it dynamic

EASY CO-OP MULTIPLAYER

- Drop in Drop out, 3 players online, with a planned 2 player local couch co-op option. No Hassle and No Problems.

The Character you’ve been progressing in your Solo game, is the same one you will use and progress further if you join another friends game. Your character save is NOT stuck and tied to a world save.

CONTINUED PROGRESSION

- Not only does your character progress in stats through gameplay, but EVERYTHING you use in the game progresses.

Use Health Potions a lot? Now Health Potions cure more HP when Consumed. Leveling weapons unlocks new skills. You will also level up your town shops through trading resources, which will unlock more weapon and armor upgrades.

- Your progression stays with you, from solo, to co-op and back through multiple playthroughs. And even your town upgrades go with you into New Game +. You will Unlock new Tier levels of difficulty every time you beat the maps end boss, and those higher Tiers are where the enemies are tougher but the rewards and XP are even greater.

And last but not least, ROLE PLAYING

- Not everything in Luminary is tied to combat. There will be mining, fishing, animal catching, and other things to enjoy. And in Multiplayer you are not tied to your Host’s location, you are free to play your way, even in their game.

You can be the team’s miner, searching for the best ores, and trade them to your friends for their precious GOLD!

LORE

Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.

But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.

Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs

As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.
