At the heart of Beatrix lies a tarot-based card system inspired by the Major Arcana, where every card is both a weapon and an omen. The way you place and orient them determines not only the outcome of each duel, but also which fragments of a soul’s memory are revealed. These clues guide you toward the final judgment: Hell, Purgatory, or Paradise.

Judgment
Every run is a unique trial. You’ll confront a soul through three escalating battles, descending through Dante’s Circles of Hell and facing Guardians who slowly succumb to the very sins they once kept in check.

Your verdict doesn’t just decide a soul’s fate — it ripples outward, reshaping the balance of the afterlife itself.

Relationship-based Deckbuilder
Your deck is more than just tarot cards—it’s built on relationships. Forge bonds with the beings you encounter in each circle to gain, upgrade, and rank up cards, shaping your strategy with every choice you make.

Beatrix
In Beatrix, a tarot-based roguelite inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, you play as Beatrix, summoned by God to restore order to a corrupted afterlife. Souls, lost and trapped in circles where they don’t belong, await your judgment.
