Why Early Access?

“We are launching Launch Engine in Early Access to collaborate directly with our community as we expand our core features. While our immediate goal is to build a robust library of diverse widgets, the goal is at least 20 on the Steam workshop before release, our long-term vision is much broader, we want to evolve Launch Engine into a comprehensive desktop customization suite, with wallpaper functionality and a visual editor.

Early Access allows us to gather crucial user feedback, refine the user experience, and prioritize the exact features and integrations our community needs most. We are fully committed to updating this project transparently until it reaches its complete, polished final release.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“The plan is about 1 year in early access, but this could be maybe a bit more or less.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the the program plan is to have more widgets, and possibly a widget builder, and more options for modders to create different types of widgets.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state is very polished.
It does have 6 core widgets.
Its got an inbuilt code editor and config for widgets.
Its got full steam workshop integration, create, upload and subscribe to steam items.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain the same.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will directly shape the roadmap of Launch Engine. We will rely heavily on user feedback to prioritize which new widgets and features to develop next, as well as to identify and squash bugs.

To facilitate this, we will be actively engaging with users through our Steam Discussion boards, where users can submit feature requests, report bugs, and vote on ideas. We will also share development updates and interact with the community on our official X account and YouTube channel. Furthermore, we plan to celebrate our community’s creativity by highlighting our favorite user-made widgets and eventually hosting community competitions for the most innovative designs in various categories.”
