When it's mice, you call an exterminator. When it's criminals, you call the police. When it's a gaping fracture in reality, you don't call anyone; the Keepers are already there, and you've seen too much.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access to build Keepers: Fractured Realities alongside our community. Keepers is a serialised story, think of it like a TV series where a new episode drops every month. Early Access is how we deliver that experience: you get Chapter 1 now, and the story grows with every update through 2026.

Player feedback shapes everything from dialogue pacing and character moments to how we design each new Oddity case. We want the people playing from the beginning to feel like they helped build this world.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Keepers: Fractured Realities will be in Early Access until the story is complete. Act 1 runs from May 2026 through December 2026. Act 2 is planned for 2027. Act 3 is planned to release throughout 2028, following the same monthly episodic format.

When Act 3 concludes, the game leaves Early Access as a fully finished product. Players who buy in during Early Access own the game at the current price and receive every update through to completion at no additional cost.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version launches with Chapter 1 of Act 1. Each subsequent month adds a new episode, building toward the Act 1 finale in December 2026.

The full Act 1 experience will include 8 complete episodes, full voice acting across all characters, the complete original soundtrack, and a finished story with a real ending. Players who join during Early Access get the story as it unfolds.

Players who join after Act 1 is complete get the full arc in one go.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access launches with Chapter 1, a fully voiced, fully playable introduction to the world of Keepers, its characters, and its core mystery. This is not a demo or a slice of content. It is a complete, polished chapter.
Chapter 1 includes:

- The full opening story arc, from the night on Hanafuda Street through the characters' forced recruitment into the Keepers
- Fully implemented visual novel dialogue system with branching conversations
- 3D point-and-click exploration segments
- Detective investigation mode
- Full English voice acting
- Original soundtrack

The game is stable and complete for the content currently available. We are actively developing Chapter 2 for release in June 2026.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Keepers: Fractured Realities is priced at $4.99 during Early Access. This reflects the episodic nature of the release. You are buying into a story that grows every month, not a finished product.

When Early Access concludes at the completion of Act 3 in late 2028, the price will increase to $9.99 to reflect the complete, finished game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is central to how we develop Keepers. We maintain an active presence across several channels and genuinely use the feedback we receive.

Our Discord server is the best place to reach us directly. We run regular Q&A sessions, share behind-the-scenes development updates, and post early looks at upcoming content there before anywhere else.

The Steam Community Hub is our hub for bug reports and structured feedback. We read every post.

We also post development updates, character reveals, and world-building content on X, Bluesky, Tumblr, TikTok, and YouTube. Each new episode release is accompanied by a full patch note and developer commentary post.

If you have thoughts on the story, the characters, or the pacing of a case, we want to hear them. This is a story we are building with our players.”

About This Game

Keepers: Fractured Realities is a supernatural mystery visual novel set in a world where reality is quietly breaking apart, and the organisation managing that fact just recruited you against your will.

Synopsis

There's a simple three-step plan for celebrating the end of exams.

Step 1: Go to an izakaya.

Step 2: Drink just a little too much, but not enough to black out.

Step 3: Try not to get caught in the middle of a fracture in reality.

Asahi and Wren failed step three. Spectacularly.

On the walk home, they stumble into a reality fracture and cross paths with the Stalker, a predatory entity that has been hunting the streets of Hanafuda for weeks. The creature has found fresh prey. They don't make it out intact.

They wake up in a hospital. Asahi's own family sells them a tidy lie about a drunken stumble down a staircase. But Wren and Asahi know what they saw. They break into their doctor's office, find the file, and discover the truth: the hospital staff knows exactly what attacked them, and has been covering it up.

Before they can process this, they're caught by Raechal, the composed and formidable right hand of Daiki, Asahi's older brother, and a man Asahi hates with the passion of a thousand suns.

It turns out the Stalker was Raechal's case to handle. She found them first. She brings the two before Daiki, who decides the cleanest solution is the boldest one:

Join the Keepers. Or have your memories of the event, each other, and everything you now know permanently wiped.

Welcome to your new job.

What Are the Keepers?

The oldest organisation in human existence. They predate governments. They manage governments. Their job is simple: contain the reality fractures, neutralise the Oddities that crawl through them, and make sure the public never finds out any of it is happening.

They're not the good guys. They're not the bad guys. They're the people who decided, a very long time ago, that someone had to do this, and that someone might as well be them.

What is an Oddity?

When the fabric of reality tears, things come through. Some are harmless. Some are dangerous. Some are world-ending.

  • Class 1: A dustbin that teleports its contents to random locations worldwide. Annoying.

  • Class 2: A stalker entity that hunts prey through the streets of Zayu. Your problem, apparently.

  • Class 3: A sentient predatory botanical garden that forms an infinite maze. Pray you never meet one.

  • Class 4: The kind of thing that reshapes continents. It's happened before. Nobody noticed.

Asahi and Wren are now responsible for handling all of the above.

A Serialised Story. New Content Every Month.

Keepers: Fractured Realities is released episodically. Early Access launches with Chapter 1, followed by new episodes every month. Act 1 runs through December 2026, Act 2 through 2027, and Act 3 throughout 2028. When Act 3 concludes, the story is complete and the game leaves Early Access.

This is a story with a beginning, a middle, and an end, and we're building it with you :)
