Parasitism is a 2D souls-like action game built around real-time Protocol Switching combat.
Players can freely switch between four distinct combat protocols (stances) at any moment during battle.
Each protocol features its own attack tempo, stamina economy, defensive options, and risk profile.

Combat is based on parry timing, guard precision, and risk–reward decision making.
To survive, players must read enemy patterns, choose the correct protocol, and manage tempo and resources throughout the fight.

Protocol Switching Combat System

  • Switch between four combat protocols in real time

  • Each protocol alters combat rhythm, resource flow, and ability effects

  • “Stance choice = combat strategy” — your decision determines the fight’s outcome

Refined Soulslike Combat

  • Guard, dodge, and parry timing form the core of battle

  • Hitstop, knockback, and other impact feedback are hand-crafted for tight control feel

  • Mistakes are punished instantly, but every pattern is learnable and fair

Pattern-Driven Enemy Design

  • Not a stats race—victory comes from reading, reacting, and switching

  • The combat loop itself becomes a learning and growth experience for the player
