In the near future, scientists have developed a machine capable of allowing one person to enter another’s consciousness. This invention was named MORBUS. It was quickly adopted by law enforcement to solve especially complex and convoluted criminal cases—situations where extracting a confession from a suspect through conventional means proved impossible.

Alice Strauss is a detective in the police force’s specialized Neuro Division. She volunteers for the case of a serial killer who has finally been captured. However, he refuses to confess to all his crimes, prompting the use of MORBUS for a full investigation. But Alice didn’t agree to this dangerous mission by chance—this very killer abducted her five-year-old daughter years ago. Now, at last, she has a chance to find answers and discover what happened to her child.
