Description

«Mistbound» is a nonlinear visual novel in the psychological romance genre. This is the story of Mitya, lost in the echoing silence of his own life. His world has shrunk to the size of his room and the walk to and from school. He tries to remain invisible, but faces the petty cruelty of his classmates and the indifference of adults. One day, this gray reality cracks, and something fragile and inexplicable emerges—a chance to escape his loneliness.

Characters

1) Mitya is a sixteen-year-old boy with a typically Slavic appearance: blond hair and blue eyes. He is a tenth-grader studying for a good grade. His style is deliberately unfashionable: he prefers a subdued palette of black, white, and beige, with his favorite color, red, always the only bright accent.

2) Alice is a seventeen-year-old eleventh-grader, a model student and the life and soul of school life, with blond hair and clear blue eyes. Behind her reserved exterior lies a dynamic, positive person: she runs the school newspaper, and her determination is truly impressive.

3) Oksana Valeryevna is a blonde teacher who, due to staff shortages, teaches both Russian and computer science to the tenth-graders. She is known for her blunt and demanding nature, but she can be lenient with students she's sympathetic to.

4) Maya is Mitya's 15-year-old classmate, who became close to him in the tenth grade. Her stern, dark-haired beauty and brown eyes betray her non-Russian origins. A flawless student and role model, she nevertheless harbors a complex inner world hidden beneath her perfect exterior. Her mother is a Russian language teacher, adding additional depth to Maya's character.

5) Ilya is Mitya's 17-year-old classmate, a stocky, fair-haired boy with a short haircut and problematic skin. He's long been a bully, and while everyone remembers this change as a sudden result of a certain incident, the details have faded from memory, leaving only his current aggressive role.

Game Development Plans

We plan to release the game in two full episodes. Development will be sequential, allowing us to focus on the quality of each installment and incorporate player feedback.

Episode One Contents (First to Go): The first episode will serve as a powerful introduction to Mitya's world and story. It will include:

Prologue: Immersive atmosphere and insight into the protagonist's inner world.

Introduction: Players will meet key characters (Maya, Alice, Ilya) and witness an event that changes Mitya's life. The episode will end with a tense choice or unexpected discovery, leaving room for development in the second part.

Gameplay

1) Consequences, not the illusion of choice. Our system ensures that every action you take will leave a mark on the story, changing the character's perception and opening up new plot points.
