Why Early Access?

“Right now, we have 1/3 of the content we want to release to the players. But we believe that what we have right now provides a fun experience for the players. The Early access will help us to reach the gaming community and receive feedback and suggestions that will allow us to improve the game mechanics to release the most engaging, fun and balanced game experience for the full version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We think that we will require a year to finish the rest of the content we want to deliver in the final released version. We will add the remaining content gradually during the Early Access. But all depends on the community feedback, we will release the game once we feel that the game has reached the point when the community feels it stable, balanced and fun.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have more content (cards, game modes, quests and achievements) and will have the game balance tested by the gaming community. Also, it will have a ranking system for the multiplayer matches. It's important to know that users may lose cards, points or achievements obtained during the Early Access version. We intend to port every asset of the player from Early Access to full release version, but that may not be possible if breaking changes are suggested by the community feedback. In any case, any in-game purchases during Early Access will be honored on the full release version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have a playable game with 1 realm, 1 Soul Caster, 2 single player modes and 1 multiplayer mode ("challenge a friend"). Since it's a strategic game it has a lot of replay value... each match it's different from the one before. We believe that this is a game that will be enjoyable for the people that play few matches or the people that play several hours. We foresee that, in average, a user can obtain all the cards, complete all the quests and experience all the features of the game in around 20 to 40 hours, but continue having fun honing her/his skills against other players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the game is free to play and, our current plan, is to keep it that way for the full release. In any case, all the items purchased by the player during Early Access will be honored once the game is released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are planning to use Steam Forums to gather community feedback and allow the players to report the bugs encountered when playing the game. Also, we want to schedule multiplayer and single player events that will be communicated both on the forums and through in-game announcements, so we can play the game together with the gaming community and receive feedback.

We want to reach the community, so the gamers can help us fine-tune the game mechanics and balance, so when we release an experience that is stable, competitive and fun. We want to produce a great game together!”

Beta Update (8-15-2018)


As the Beta moves forward, we're starting to take our time to analyze all the data we have gathered, and figure out the next steps towards Early Access. While the Early Access will have a bunch of new content and exciting features that we are already working on, we will keep patching the game with bug fixes and minor updates. In particular this patch contains fixes for 3 bugs that have been preventing players from getting into the game or game modes.

Help us with the testing!

We would love to have your help in testing some key features. For each feature you test, we would love to have your specific feedback about that feature:

  • Closed Beta Chain Quest: There's a quest chain visible to all Beta players and featured in the Main Menu (Top-Right corner of the screen). This quest chain will reward you with some of the best cards in the game! So check them out and help us testing it at the same time.
  • Participate in the Home Defense Tournament: Create the toughest Home Defense you can come up with and share it with the community. Several players have taken the lead and their home defenses are looking awesome!
  • Nightmare Game Mode: Players have been doing great progress in advancing through the depths of the Nightmare game mode! Show us who can get farthest!

Bug Fixes

  • Control settings now enabled during tutorial : Previously we had disabled control settings during the tutorials. This was because the tutorials didn't show key/controls bindings dynamically. This is fixed, and now the control settings are enabled at any time, and the tutorials properly show the custom bindings from the user. Apologies to all our good friends using different control layouts who were prevented from trying the game!
  • Start Game Button Overlap: At first we didn't notice that in certain resolutions the "Start Game" button was overlapping with the "Game Options" user interface, not allowing users in these resolutions to properly select the game options. This have been fixed now.
  • Steam VR issues: While the game doesn't support Steam VR, some users reported that Steam VR was turning on when the game started. Besides being annoying, sound also went into the VR hardware and didn't allow for a good user experience. We have a fix candidate in this patch, and we would love to hear from users if the problem has been solved for them.

Feedback Request

Hi Everyone!

It's been two weeks since we launched the Beta. At this point many of you would have had the time to play some or all the tutorials, and maybe gotten to the point where you have started trying the game features.

Thanks to you we have started realizing some of our weaknesses:
  • Our tutorials are too long and not skippable.
  • There are game settings that should be there which absence is preventing players to get to the game.
  • Moving to more languages is important.
  • The game is not making it easy for players to connect with other players.
  • The UI flow still doesn't make it easy to understand how to move forward with the game after the tutorials.
  • And many more!

But we are sure there are many more things that we could be learning from you!

We loved the initial enthusiasm and were delighted to hear what you liked from the game. But we would also love to hear different things:
  • What didn't you like from the game?
  • What has really annoyed you?
  • What things need serious improvement?
  • What additional game modes would you like to see there?
  • What would make you feel hooked to the game?
