About This Game

S.M.P.C.U. is an online co-op horror game for up to 4 players. You and your friends are part of a pest control unit of the special kind! The “Special Monster Pest Control Unit” doesn’t bother with cockroaches or rats; there’s a far more dangerous task at hand! 

Extraterrestrial monsters have infested Earth's most sacred places - fast-food restaurants - and it is your job to get rid of them! 

Trap the sleeping monster by closing the portal it used to enter the pantry - the company will handle the rest. 

Identify the monster: With the help of eyewitness reports from the fast-food employees, you’ll get information on what kind of monster awaits you in your next mission. This information, your experience and the bestiary will help you choose the right equipment. Encountering different monster species will complete the bestiary. 

Unique monsters: The player has the chance to encounter a variety of monster species, each with distinctive behavior, traits, and stats. Every monster species will react differently to the players' behavior in the pantry and the items they bring. 

Select your gear: Every player can bring three items on their mission. A portal deactivator, a weapon (melee or firearm) and a special item such as a flashlight or a noise emitter. Some special items interact differently with each monster species. One can be very effective against a certain species, but bad against another. Pick your items carefully! Once you’re in the pantry, there’s no option to switch them out. 

The Portal: Find the portal in the maze-like pantry and close it through a minigame using your deactivator. Be careful, mistakes might alert the monster.  

The Monster: The monster species have differently well-developed senses. Some rely more on hearing, others on smell or their sight. So be aware of how you move through the pantry as a team, since it can heavily impact your chance of survival. 

Work together to survive: Play together as a team, communicate through proximity chat and your task successfully. Survive these strange pantries, fight off little critters and save each other as you make your way to the portal. 

Get out alive: Once your task is completed, get out alive quickly so the S.M.P.C.U. can freeze the whole pantry and take care of the monster. Don’t get caught inside when they do.
