"Intersecta" is an intense tactical top-down space combat game with a stylized sci-fi aesthetic. Devoid of humans, the game is set in another dimension where only cybernetic insects have evolved. The player takes control of an Intersecta fighter pilot hoping to survive an intergalactic invasion.

Intersecta is an intense tactical top-down shooter with a distinct arcade feel. It blends fast, twitch-based gameplay with the intelligent use of tactics. With hand crafted 2D game artistry, FX and animations, the game has a unique audio-visual style, utilising the power of Unreal Engine 5 for a stunning 2.5D experience.

This is an indie game being solo developed by "11th Dan".

STORYLINE>>>

There is a solar system, in another dimension, where insect life has evolved to be of the most intelligence. Humans know not of its existence, just as the insects know not of humans. Their paths will never cross… yet believe, that somewhere out there in the dark, there is a war going on. The insects have built machines, and vast colonies on several planets of a solar system if you can imagine.

The game setting begins as the hive planets are under threat from an invasion by the plague. The plague has amassed vast armies and fleets. “Intersecta” is the name of an elite fighter outfit and fleet that is thrown into action to intercept and intersect; to cut out any threat to the solar system. There are many pilots, but the player will only brush wings with some of them.

CHARACTERS>>>

You play as a cybernetic butterfly pilot named Intersecta One. A second player can join in as Intersecta Two, a moth character. There are more characters; NPCs that assist the player is several ways (as squadron wingmen, to drop power upgrades, to advise etc).

GAME PLAY>>>

The combat is 360 degrees. A core game mechanic is that the controls are based around 2 different flight modes with the ability to zoom out for longer range attacks and recon of the battle zone. "FREE FLIGHT" mode lets you fly in 360 degree space, whereas "RAID MODE" focuses your space ship to attack in one direction, with strafing... so you can concentrate on focusing an attack and evading fire more easily. Mastering the seamless transition between these two modes (with one stick click) will mean you become an ace.

The enemy AI was designed to be very organic, so each encounter is a unique experience.

GAME PLAY>>>

Between missions, you can customise your spaceship with 5 different fuselages and 5 types of wings, offering 25 unique configurations that alter your ship's speed, acceleration, handling, and armour. With 8 different colour schemes, there are 200 possible combinations to fine-tune your craft.

The game features three distinct weapon systems:

⦁ Laser: A standard forward-firing weapon. Requires the pilot to get in a position to shoot.

⦁ Swarm Laser: Can be aimed 360 degrees, can bend shot, and you can build up a swarm of lasers by altering their directions mid-flight and unleashing the swarm on the enemy.

⦁ Heavy Weapon: A powerful, chargeable weapon with three options that can be switched easily using the D-Pad: the energy ball, the fire and forget missile, and the electrical beam.

All weapons can be upgraded during a mission, giving the game a "rogue lite" element. Combat is a test of timing and skill, as weapons can jam if overused. You also have evasion moves and a temporary sphere shield to dodge attacks and protect your ship.

Mastering piloting your spaceship and using all the combat and defensive systems is key to survival.

GAME MODES>>>

There is an online stats system with scoreboards, and the final release will have the following:

⦁ Single player campaign (with local and online COOP).

⦁ Online Multiplayer (PvP and PvE).

⦁ Statistics galore (including scores, kills, deaths, K:D, weapon accuracy, hits and misses etc)

⦁ Achievements (unlock achievements during the game).

⦁ Objectives (mini challenges within levels that can be completed to get XP and rank up).

⦁ Game Difficulties to suit ability and challenge (Easy, Normal, Hard & Insane).

⦁ Training Zone - a 60 minute survival challenge.
