What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Slime Well is a game centered around exploration, puzzle design, and the creative use of different abilities. Puzzle games depend heavily on players’ actual gameplay experiences, and different players may have very different interpretations of difficulty, hints, routes, and pacing.
Therefore, through Early Access, we hope to use community feedback as an important reference while continuing to improve and adjust the game, making the overall experience clearer, smoother, and more enjoyable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently estimate that Slime Well will remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 9 months.
This is only an approximate timeframe and may change depending on player feedback, the amount of content that requires adjustment, technical issues, and the overall progress of development. We would prefer to leave Early Access when the game provides a sufficiently stable and complete experience rather than commit to a fixed release date too early.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Compared with the Early Access version, we plan to further refine the level content, puzzle design, ability mechanics, exploration routes, collectible elements, and overall pacing in the full version.
We also plan to use player feedback to adjust aspects such as the difficulty curve of certain levels, the way hints are presented, the responsiveness of the controls, the user interface, and other details of the gameplay experience.
Our overall goal is to help players understand the game’s mechanics more naturally, gradually acquire new abilities while exploring the long-abandoned world, and use those abilities to solve more puzzles and discover additional hidden content.
These plans may be adjusted depending on the progress of development and community feedback. We will aim to remain transparent and inform players through announcements whenever significant changes are made.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version is playable and contains the core gameplay experience of Slime Well. Players can control the slime, move through and explore the environment, acquire different abilities, and use those abilities to solve puzzles.
The current version already includes a selection of completed levels, environmental interactions, collectible content, and story clues that demonstrate the game’s intended gameplay direction and visual style.
However, some areas are still being developed and refined, including level pacing, puzzle difficulty, player guidance, visual details, and the fixing of any issues that may be discovered.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Slime Well is currently planned to be offered as a free game. We do not currently plan to change the free-to-play status of the base game after it leaves Early Access.
If there are any future changes related to pricing, additional content, or the distribution model, we will inform players in advance through Steam announcements or other community channels.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to collect player feedback through Steam Community discussions, reviews, announcements, player feedback forms, and social media.
We are particularly interested in learning where players become stuck, how difficult the puzzles are to understand, how the different abilities feel to use, whether the exploration routes are clear, and what players think about the art, music, story atmosphere, and overall pacing.
During Early Access, we will continue to review player feedback and use it as an important reference when adjusting the game. For significant updates, fixes, and changes, we plan to provide information through Steam announcements so that the community can follow the game’s development progress and understand the direction of future adjustments.”
