Game Overview

Adventure solo or with friends in this 1-4 local multiplayer game of fate, fortune and dice! In Die by Die you step into a living, text-driven adventure built from a rich library of hand-crafted story fragments. Each run blends these pieces into a unique quest — your mission, your motivation, and the prize waiting at the end. You can leave everything to chance or shape the starting conditions yourself before diving in.

From there, you explore your journey scene by scene. Each description unfolds procedurally, and you choose which details to act upon. Sneak past guards, strike up conversations, solve environmental puzzles, buy supplies, or pick a fight — the choice is yours. Creative thinking opens unexpected paths, but risky moves may call for a roll of the dice and your character’s stats to decide the outcome.

Combat is tense and turn-based. Dialogue can sway allies or foes. Exploration uncovers secrets and surprises. Every decision shapes a one-of-a-kind story that plays differently each time you venture into the unknown.

Play As One Of Six Unique Character Classes

Play as a Warrior, Cleric, Spell-Sword, Hunter, Vagabond, or Sorcerer. Each class has unique abilities to help you adventure, fight and survive. Choose carefully when playing as a group, maximising class synergies. 

Roll Your Fate - A Unique Story Every Run

Choose between semi, or completely randomised adventures, then at the beginning of a session the game will roll to create the setting, plot points and encounters and goal of the story. As you complete more stories and encounters, your options for creating custom adventure will grow

Death And Dice! 

Die By Die draws inspiration from many classic and new table top rpg to create a new dice system that is intuitive and rewarding. Each player has a set of six, six sided dice of varying types (Attack, Defense, Might, Mind, Finesse and general). Using the correct dice type for an ability check or combat manoeuvre provides a dice bonus. Ability checks, conversations, and combat all draw from the same dice pool. Combat is all about managing your dice well.

Upgrade Your Adventurer

Collect new dice, buy special items, and level up your adventurer to improve your chances of survival and success in the ever changing dungeons that await.

All Stories Must End

Whether you complete your heroes journey or meet a perilous end, Die By Die adapts to give a unique epilogue for your characters shaped by your actions and play-styles. When a run ends you  start over with a new story generated and a level one character. But all is not in vain! The new encounters, upgrades and characters you discovered during each run are unlocked to reappear.
