About This Game

An apprentice. A healer. A warrior. Breathe, pull, and choose your way through their stories in this dark yet comforting narrative game about healing the worlds inside us.

The Scene

On a monsoon summer night, an apprentice, a healer, and a warrior gather around a fire. One has come for refuge, another for healing, and the last to discover her truth. As each woman begins to tell her story, she finds she has so securely wrapped herself in silence that it is difficult to find a way out.

In the glow of the fire and the warmth of their companions, help them find a way to tell their stories.

Branching Stories

Sometimes it’s hard to speak. Sometimes it takes a few tries to say what you need to say. Our stories aren’t linear. And sometimes detours are necessary. To get your emotions out before forging on. To sit in a safe moment before venturing into the harder ones. To acknowledge that there isn’t just one truth to your story, but many truths that exist at the same time.

Explore different paths through each character’s life and help them reach the words they need to say.

Breathe

Since she was young, Sakari has been searching for magic. Not the everyday kind, but the kind that changes people, body and soul. The kind that is, sadly, illegal. She hadn’t ever considered inviting someone to join her unsanctioned journey before, but there is a man that finds his way into it all the same. And he uses this newfound closeness to bear down on her until she feels like she’s suffocating.

Help Sakari tell her story by breathing life back into the world inside her.

Pull

Jilin possesses many wonderful qualities, but if you ask her family, there is only one that matters: she is a healer. And, for a time, she might have agreed. Being a healer gave her freedom. The freedom to help the people that needed it. To love the people she wanted. To disappear from her family when it all became too much. But she finds it harder to escape the pieces of her family that have taken root and grown inside her.

Help Jilin tell her story by pulling these pieces from the world inside her, one by one. Uproot the parts of her heritage that pain her so that the parts that nurture her can grow.

choose

Araz has rarely had time in her life to think. This is, unfortunately, by design. It is far easier for her country to send its citizens to fight the oddly humanoid monsters in the north when it has trained them since birth to stay in fight or flight. Thinking, at this point, feels uncomfortable to Araz. This too is by design. But Araz has children now. And with two little ones, she has choices to make, whether she is permitted to make them or not. Thinking is unavoidable.

Help Araz tell her story by choosing your way through the paths in her past. Help her define what it means to choose, and to choose right.

Dedication

Let Me Speak is a game for everyone that’s felt the weight of silence. For all the things we haven’t been able to say, and all the moments we haven’t been able to share. And, ultimately, it’s a love letter to all the people that make us feel safe enough to tell our stories.
