What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want player feedback to balance the cards in the game more and tweaks in the gameplay or certain rules. This is crucial for the player experience in terms of challenge, difficulty and fairness. Players may come up with their own ideas for new cards as well. The game will get more content during Early Access such as trophies.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Estimate: at least 3 months. Longer if there's not enough feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have Steam Trophies, a fully readable game log and balancing modifications to cards, possibly with some new ones.

The game is fully playable now, but rewards like trophies are not there yet. The game log only shows the last 3 messages, so that feature will be improved later on. New cards could be added as well as new enemy decks depending on feedback.

A full release out of Early Access wil not ruin your current run. You can save your decks and decktypes and will keep them after the game goes out of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable, there are no levels or enemies missing. You can do everything you are supposed to be able to do: play battles, draft more cards if you win them, adjust your deck, save decks, collect decktypes, adjust difficulty after any game and difficulty scaling up as you win more, while trying to get a better hiscore.

The only things you don't get just yet, but get within the next 3 months are not essential to play the game but add to the experience:
-trophies to add challenges;
-more balancing to the cards based on feedback during EA. Some cards may be deemed a bit too powerful or not powerful enough despite most already getting enough feedback;
-the game has a brief game log on the left only showing the last 3 actions. The finished game will have a full game log where you can read all logged events that happened in the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the full price will be up to 2,5x the current price. The Early Access price is lower because players do not get the full experience and because their feedback makes up for getting less revenue.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Steam community forum page for the game will be the place to discuss balancing and other issues. The devlog on the Steam page will be frequently updated with changes, as it is already.”
