About This Game

The Steam Next Fest demo supports Korean and English. Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese support will also be added to the demo.

Decide Today’s Front Page.

1920s Gyeongseong, present-day Seoul. You are the editor-in-chief of a newspaper in Korea under Japanese colonial rule.

Read incoming reports and testimonies, avoid the censor’s gaze, and decide which truths deserve a place on the page.

Will you print the name of an independence activist? Will you erase a sentence banned by the Government-General?

If you report it, someone may be put in danger. If you stay silent, someone may be forgotten.

The Words You Choose Become the Newspaper

The Newspapers of the day is a historical political simulation adventure where you complete each day’s newspaper through reporting, article selection, censorship, and page layout.

A single line or word can shift trust, influence, and censorship risk. Sharp reporting can earn readers’ trust, but it may catch the Government-General’s eye. Compliant articles may keep you safe, but readers may turn away.

Yield too much, and your readers leave. Push too hard, and the Government-General may shut the paper down. Between survival and conviction, you must complete one page at a time.

Reporting Does Not End at the Desk

Reporters go into the field to meet people, gather testimony, and approach hidden truths.

Sometimes a single line of dialogue changes the direction of an investigation. Sometimes reaching a deeper truth means accepting real risk.

Connections, speech, intelligence, and stamina determine the outcome of dice-based reporting checks.

Successful reporting can lead to sharper articles, but pushing too far can put both your reporters and the newspaper at risk.

Sometimes you must step directly into the dark.

Avoid the patrolman’s sight, infiltrate restricted places, and uncover clues.

As the era moves forward, surveillance tightens, and one mistake can bring everything down.

A Scoop Must Be Designed

Connect keywords gathered across multiple issues to create special reports that can shake the era.

The angle you choose, and the way you frame the story, can change the fate of the newspaper.

Reporters Are People Too

A newspaper does not run on its own.

Reporters who want to tell the truth, reporters who want to protect the paper, and censors who demand silence all share the same space.

Each reporter has their own beliefs and limits.

Force them to write against their convictions, and stress will build. Push them to the edge, and they may break — or become stronger.

Choosing who to send to each case, and which article to assign, is part of your strategy.

1945, Your Ending

From 1920 to liberation, your accumulated choices lead to multiple endings.

A newspaper that survived. A newspaper that was shut down. A newspaper judged by history.

The articles you wrote will decide the final front page.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game used generative AI as an assistive tool during development to expand the scope of content production and improve workflow efficiency. The specific areas of use are as follows:

Art: AI was used to create most of the background images that establish the game’s historical atmosphere, to enhance the quality of the main character concept art, to create extra character images, and to produce UI icons. All AI-generated visual assets were retouched and edited by artists to match the game’s direction and visual tone.

Text and Localization: AI was used to draft large volumes of newspaper articles, public reactions, and text used in minigames. AI was also used to assist with proofreading, context checking, and drafting or reviewing some localized text.

All AI-generated or AI-assisted results were reviewed, edited, and adjusted directly by the development team before being used in the game.
