What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core loop is fun, but we need real player data to polish balance, progression, and late-game. Early Access helps us build the best version together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We expect the full version to feature more content (units, artifacts, bosses, maps), deeper progression, and broader balance patches informed by player data.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“PvE is the focus right now; meta systems (shop, rerolls, synergies) are functional. Some UI/UX and onboarding elements are still being refined. The game is stable and feature-complete for its main mod and the core loop is fully playable.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll actively engage with the community through multiple channels:
Communication:
Regular updates in the Steam Community Hub with development progress and planned features.
Active monitoring and responses in the Steam discussion forums
Bi-weekly/monthly progress reports sharing what we're working on

Community Impact:
Bug reports and gameplay feedback will directly influence our priority fixes and balance adjustments
We'll create feedback threads for major feature decisions and gameplay mechanics
Player suggestions for quality-of-life improvements will be tracked and considered for implementation
Community polls on specific features or content additions
Recognition:
Shout-outs in patch notes for valuable bug reports, translations, and testing contributions

About This Game

About the Game

Galaxy for Dummies is a ridiculous roguelike auto-battler set in a chaotic, cartoon-style sci-fi universe. Your mission? Recruit the weirdest alien commanders you can find, assemble bizarre teams, and outsmart everything the galaxy throws at you. No space academy diploma required.

The Story

The galaxy is falling apart… probably. No one’s entirely sure, but there’s a lot of shouting, laser fire, and exploding moons. As the least qualified commander in the universe, you’re tasked with saving it or at least making it through alive one absurd battle at a time.

Core Gameplay

  • Roguelike Auto-Battler: Build a team of up to 5 alien units, each with unique abilities and wacky personalities.

  • Recruit & Upgrade: Spend your hard-earned space coins between battles to buy, swap, and upgrade units.

  • Synergy Madness: Combine units for special effects – from chain lightning to summoning space slugs.

  • Adapt or Explode: Every run is different, with random shop rolls, enemy lineups, and planet hazards.

Progression

  • 40 Waves Across 4 Planets: Each planet brings unique enemies, environmental effects, and a final boss.

  • Unlock New Units & Commanders: Permanent progression between runs keeps the chaos fresh.

  • Experiment with Builds: Mix factions, skills, and items to find broken combos… before your enemies do.

Features

  • 🪐 Quirky Sci-Fi World: From space-worm taverns to laser-powered toilets, no two runs feel the same.

  • 👽 Dozens of Units: Aliens, cryptids, robots, and things that probably shouldn’t be alive.

  • Epic Boss Fights: Test your team against galaxy-sized threats with unique mechanics.

  • 🎨 Cartoon Visuals: A colorful, hand-drawn style inspired by Rick & Morty and Super Auto Pets.

  • 🎵 Original Soundtrack: Spacey, comedic tracks to accompany your victories and failures.

Playtime

A single run can last 20 to 40 minutes depending on your skill and luck. Expect dozens of hours of replayability as you unlock new content, discover synergies, and challenge yourself to beat higher waves.

Galaxy for Dummies combines humor, tactical depth, and complete absurdity into one endlessly replayable package. The galaxy won’t save itself and frankly, you might make things worse.
