What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’ve launched in Early Access to share the core “Doomed Inheritance” experience—haunted exploration, sanity mechanics, and the first suite of puzzles—while continuing to expand the mansion, refine atmosphere, and iterate on player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It’s hard to pin down an exact timeframe. We anticipate remaining in Early Access for several months to a year, depending on how smoothly new content comes together and how the community’s input guides our roadmap.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Over time, we aim to add new wings of the manor, fresh puzzle mechanics (like the Blood-Drip Cipher and Weight-Balance Scale), deeper narrative layers, and richer audiovisual polish. Exact features and timing will remain flexible as we respond to playtests and player suggestions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now you can explore the grand foyer, gallery, study, and initial catacombs; experience the sanity-drain and control-drift systems; and solve several placement, light-and-shadow, and pattern puzzles. Many later rooms, interactions, and performance optimizations are still being developed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is currently priced to reflect its Early Access status. As we add significant content, the price could be adjusted modestly, I am going to keep it the same price after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’re planning to keep the community at the heart of development through several open channels—without any hard commitments on timing or feature guarantees:

Devlogs & Blog Posts
We’ll publish regular updates on our website (and mirror them on Steam) outlining what’s just been added, what we’re exploring next, and what challenges we’ve run into.

Steam Discussion & Feedback Threads
Our Steam discussion board will be monitored for bugs, suggestions, and general impressions. Players can start new topics or vote on existing ideas to help us gauge what’s resonating.

Discord Server
A dedicated Discord will let us run quick polls (“Which puzzle style feels more tense?”), share behind-the-scenes art or build snapshots, and host small playtest sessions in voice or text channels.

Surveys & Polls
From time to time we’ll send out short surveys—via Steam announcements, Discord pings, or blog links—to ask you which mechanics you’d like to see expanded, or what sort of quality-of-life tweaks matter most.

Public Test Builds
When we’ve got a new puzzle or sanity-drift tweak to try, we may tag a “preview” branch on Steam so interested players can jump in and share feedback before it lands in the main Early Access build.”

About This Game

About This Game

Step into the decaying halls of Mortimer Manor, where every ticking second erodes your grip on reality. In Doomed Inheritance, you’ll navigate grand foyers, shadowed galleries, and winding catacombs—all while a relentless sanity meter displayed as a brain icon fractures under the strain.

  • Dynamic Sanity System: Watch your brain HUD icon crack and splinter as time slips away. When your mind falters, controls stutter and visuals distort, heightening the dread.

  • Environmental Puzzles: Align haunted portraits, light candle‐powered sigils, balance ancient scales, and decipher blood‐drip ciphers to unlock new wings of the estate.

  • Exploration & Secrets: Hunt for hidden alcoves, secret pantries, and forgotten journals that shed light on the Mortimer curse—and grant fleeting relief in the form of youth vials.

  • Atmospheric Presentation: Immerse yourself in hand‐crafted Gothic corridors, eerie soundscapes, and flickering candlelight that reveal—or conceal—the manor’s darkest secrets.

  • Early Access Content: Experience the opening chapters, from the grand staircase down to the relic‐filled catacombs. Future updates may expand the estate, introduce fresh puzzles, and deepen the narrative, guided by community feedback.

Are you prepared to inherit centuries of ambition—and pay the ultimate price? Your borrowed time begins now.
