Obsydian is also known for its huge and stable itemization and build creation. Buy and sell your tradeable items for coins in the player-based "Trading Hall".

Skill and Movement based Combat

Master a fluid, responsive combat system, with creative ways to move around the map and slash monsters.

Free-flowing dynamic combat where strategic positioning and your skill amplify your stats and build choices. Jump over enemy swings, dodge missiles, and attack from the air.

Near-Infinite Build Potential

Games tend to fall into one of two extremes: They either offer great build variety but are overly complex and filled with too many sub-systems, or they lack depth entirely.

We keep stat affixes simple to understand, and offer a gigantic amount of them, each being important in its own way for build-crafting.

Choose your path through the class and mastery tree. Each class comes with their unique masteries, that define your build's focus and synergies. There’s always something new to try!

Gemstones can be socketed into weapons to define their attack rules, and behaviour. Burst dozends of poison arrows, incinerate monsters, or spread sickness.

Horizontal and Vertical Progression

Obsydian focuses on horizontal progression, making all content relevant, not just the newest.

Mixed with vertical stat-progression from popular ARPG's and deep build strategies we created an unique and very rewarding experience, making your progress relevant forever.

We really care about quality and good flow in games, without needing to push everything towards fast-pacing reward spams, but rather give true meaning to achievements.

Loot, Grow, and Evolve

Collect and craft powerful gear, unlock permanent upgrades, and evolve through the web of individual skills and attributes each class has.

There is no upwards level scaling in Obsydian, you are as strong as your gear and build is. Going into lower level areas does adjust your character's base strength, so every piece of content stays relevant for the whole time.

The overworld is 100% handcrafted, and each zone offers procedurally generated caves, catacombs and more.

With a smooth mix between both approaches, we keep the whole lore of this world in tact, while offering new and fresh experiences through randomized dungeons.

But even the Overworld is dynamic, offering Events where players collect to conquer one big challenge together.
