Why Early Access?

“A Frog's Pond is a studio comprised of junior developers just getting started in the games industry. Waterjacked is our first project and we want to take things slow! Over the course of Early Access, we hope to build a strong community, receive feedback on the game, and learn how to maintain a released title. Our primary goals are to finish a game that our players enjoy, that we are proud of, and that pushes us and our skills to new heights.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As of writing, we anticipate Waterjacked to be fully released in Q1 of 2027. We work day jobs on top of what we do at A Frog's Pond, so the timeline may change if life events arise. Any changes will be clearly communicated via Steam Announcements and our social channels.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add new robot enemies, a boss fight, new Modules, Augments, and Herbals. We're also planning many balance passes to ensure the game experience is as tight as possible. Compared to the current state of the game, you can expect a much more vibrant and deep strategic experience that rewards creativity.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now, Waterjacked features four unique robot enemies and a handful of basic Modules and Augments. A pseudo-endless mode is also implemented so you can play for as long as you like, but it is not in its final iteration. Basic video and audio settings are available, along with keybind customization.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Waterjacked will launch into early access at a steeply discounted price. We will increase the price as more content is added. We plan to include Waterjacked in as many sales as we can throughout EA and at release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We constantly seek feedback from anyone playing our games. If you have any feedback, bug reports, or other issues, please head over to our Discord, where you will find a dedicated section for Waterjacked. About This Game

Waterjacked! is a turn-based roguelike where you are a gunslinging succulent chosen to save your people. Wield the armament known as GRID and blast your way to the Robot HQ, where The Prophet resides. Your journey is not just a test of strength, however. Collect an assortment of Modules and weaponize them in creative ways to destroy any robots that stand in your way. It is up to you, and only you, to defeat the robots and reclaim the future of The Valley!

A fully modular weapon system forged from the blood, sweat, and spikes of those who resisted the robot threat before you. Place, rotate, and move Modules within the GRID to uncover combos that unleash devastating strikes against the robots. How will you wield the GRID?

Without Modules, the GRID is a hunk of junk. Explore the Fabricator's Shop after each fight and trade in robot scrap for new Modules. Fire powerful bolts with the Archer Sigil or grow damage-boosting flowers. The GRID's capabilities are only limited by your imagination. Never be afraid to experiment, and don't forget the Fabricator's law: No refunds!

Augments provide a wide range of utilities and power. The buffs can be run-changing, but be aware that many Augments come with downsides. There’s always a price to pay for power, after all. Siblings to the Augments are the Herbals, boosting consumables that last for only a single Scenario. It’s always wise to buy a few if you can spare the scrap.

No one in the Valley knows where they came from. No one knows why they harvest all the water they find. What you do know is that unless you fight back, your people will be driven from the land. Pick your fights carefully, as each robot poses a unique threat to tackle. From GRID shifts to stolen Modules, the robots always hold an ace up their sleeve.
