Why Early Access?

“There are additional features and a lot of polish I would like to add to Desktop Ant Farm Simulator. The core idea of the ant farm is completed, what I want out of it for my personal use. There's a laundry list of ideas and concepts that will make their way into the game over the course of 7-10 updates. Ideas can grow or change based on feedback from the community.

This is my third videogame project and sixth Beef Cat Studios project to date. I know what it takes to take an idea to the finish line. The app in it's current state is something I feel has value to share with an audience. This is continue to grow and improve over time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access will last around a year. 7-10 patches are planned at semi-regular monthly intervals. These will add new features, expand on existing features, or simply clean the game up. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access launches with a full productivity mode, a suite of game window and camera options, and dozens of lo-fi beat tracks. 1.0 will expand on all of that as well as slowly building out a more interactive idle mode.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the Early Access version is the description in the "About This" section below. This will be regularly updated as things are changed and added to the app.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will increase slightly throughout development as large features and systems are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“All feedback will be taken into account and considered - and implemented when possible. Whether feedback is left in reviews, in discussion boards on the Steam Community Hub, or elsewhere - we plan to pay attention to all thoughts, ideas, and concerns and make a reasonable effort to address them if we are able. The easiest way to let your ideas get seen by the development team would be to create on discussion topic on the Steam Community Hub for the game.”
