Why Early Access?

“Our vision for vrOS is to enable creators, social VR players and power users alike to have a native, high-performance VR overlay system that deeply integrates with their OS of choice, whether that be Windows 11, macOS or Linux.

While we solve many issues faced by dedicated social VR players, it's still too early to say "done" — so by opening up and building our community from here we hope for everyone's honest feedback.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“As the state of social VR and vrOS continually evolves, we expect to make fast-paced updates and changes that will influence how players want to use our software.

There's currently no estimate when a "final" version will ship, but we'll keep everyone updated with the current state as it changes.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“vrOS is a bit of a portmanteau—but an acronym. While it does stand for Overlay System, our vision is that it can - and will - enhance the operation of all aspects of your VR experience.

We hope to release an open-source SDK that allows developers to build their own vrOS micro-services and integrations with any app.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Our core product and overlay application framework is now complete, but we still have features being added and/or updated on a weekly basis.

All base micro-services and features seen on our store page work and enhancements are underway.

Fast-paced development is expected to continue for at least the first year.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“This is our final price. Additional micro-services may be released as paid DLCs in the future, but we will not change the price when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our developers do frequent livestreams with vrOS in use as their main set of content creation tooling.

That same community is the reason we decided to make this into a public release. We'll do our best to listen to all comments on the Steam forum and anywhere else we happen to find players using our system.”

Our AI DLC allows players to choose between "free" local models or cloud compute.

It offers coding support for our system-wide Lua interface as well as Speech and Language interpretation services.

We also have computer vision services that allow social VR players to instantly recognize objects and translate in-game text to the language of their choice.

We don't use any acquired data for training. Players retain full control and ownership of all their data.
