What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core loop already works: pick a map and difficulty → pick a character → hold the Core → upgrade your build → push a harder tier. We want to polish balance, game feel and content depth together with player feedback instead of building behind closed doors.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6 months. Content quality and balance come before the calendar.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Finish the planned characters and weapons
Add more maps, difficulty tiers and boss types
Complete the codex, stats and save experience
Keep tuning numbers and game feel based on community feedback”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build already lets you play 5 characters, 18 weapons and 3 maps, with a complete flow from character select to clearing a run. Some art, sound and UI are still being polished, so unstable or unfinished content is possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We collect feedback through the Steam Community Hub and discussions, focusing on balance, game feel and content priorities.”

About This Game

After the Otherworld invasion, one island base is all that is left

The Otherworld invasion tore the mainland apart, and the Federation's defense line fell back step by step until only this island base remained.

In the fallen labs, the scientists all made the same choice — upload their complete personality data into the base's central AI, the Core, and leave their bodies in the ruins.

Sion, Iris, Vera, Greta, Erin. They are no longer human, yet they are still part of the line.

Island Core is a single-player monster-horde defense game: you command a Core that keeps upgrading, and a group of the dead who refuse to stop firing.

You are the Core: it handles the firepower, you make the choices

The Core acquires targets, fires and reloads on its own. What you decide is what it becomes —

· Five Core research lines: Alloy Material (Core HP), Intelligence System (experience gain), Armor-Piercing Rounds (damage), Extended Magazine (magazine size) and Agile Mechanism (fire rate)

· Stronger every level: kills grant experience, and each level lets you pick an upgrade from the passive pool; chosen passives keep leveling up

· The Core is your life: if it falls, the run is over. Survive, and you get to upgrade again

Characters: five scientists, five completely different playstyles

Each character brings a full weapon module set, an active skill and a 15-level growth path — they are not skins, they are five builds:

· Sion · Rapid Fire Core — every Core level pushes the fire rate higher; the longer you live, the wilder it gets

· Iris · Laser Weapon — 'Laser Overload': doubled laser damage, doubled range and infinite penetration for a few seconds

· Vera · Saw Gun — blades that carve back and forth with infinite penetration and no penetration falloff; the more they pierce, the harder they hit

· Greta · DCI Machine Gun — a six-barrel minigun that never reloads; 'Firestorm' dumps 200 rounds and double fire rate

· Erin · Drone — spend energy to forge drone turrets, and unlock 'Swarm Control' at level 10 for coordinated strikes

18 weapons, and every one has a temper

These are not reskinned stat sticks:

· Ballistic Storm — fire rate climbs through the magazine and resets on reload

· MK-25 Kinetic SMG — every round missing from the magazine adds damage

· Saw Gun / Phase Sniper Rifle — infinite penetration: blades carve through the horde, rounds phase through space

· Matter Decomposer — restores Core HP equal to the damage it deals

· DV5 Drone — summons sniper-armed drones that pour out lethal armor-piercing rounds

· Prairie Wolf — +25% base crit and +150% crit damage; one shot decides everything

· Standard ballistics: Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Rapid Cannon, Sniper Rifle, Echo Shotgun

· Sustained damage: Laser Weapon, Flamethrower, Matter Decomposer

· Summons: Drone, DV5 Drone, Electromagnetic Saw System

28 passives — and they combine

Passives are more than stat boosts: some can be crafted into higher-tier modules, fusing basics like Rapid Fire Core and Charge Amplification into brand-new weapon talents.

Some passives are restricted to specific characters or weapons: the same gun is a different gun in different hands.

Three maps, three ways to die

· Desert — a vast desert where periodic sandstorms slow the Core's fire rate and cut its accuracy

· Swamp — irregular downpours: monsters gain +20% movement speed while the Core loses 25% fire rate and 1 attack

· Snowfield — a snowfield fraught with peril

Every map has escalating difficulty tiers, unlocked by completing a run. Monsters unlock as survival time passes and trigger dedicated spawn windows, while timed bosses charge straight at the Core.

Current content

· 5 playable characters, each with a 15-level growth path, exclusive weapon modules and an active skill

· 18 weapon modules + 28 passive upgrades + passive crafting recipes

· 5 Core research lines, plus Core Boost / Super Core Boost

· 3 maps (Snowfield / Desert / Swamp) × multiple difficulty tiers × timed bosses

· Full Simplified Chinese, plus English / 日本語 / 한국어 / Español
